Re: Suns News: Weeks 24 & 25 (3/31 - 4/13)

I'm looking forward to next year, when we somehow put together a collection of hungry young guys that outperform around Booker. Say what you will about James Jones but he's shown a knack for picking up underrated talent out of the lottery. Let him do what he's good at, GET RID OF DURANT for maximal ...

Next year's cap is projected to be about 154-155mil. Even if it comes in higher at 160mil, 15% of that is 24 and we'd still be over.
Damn. Thanks.

Re: Suns News: Week 23 (3/24 - 3/30)

So I think this flew under the radar but a stretch and waive of Beal doesn't look possible. A team is only allowed 15% of the cap to be "dead" money, which would be about $23mil overall next year. Stretching Beal would be around $22 per season but the Suns have already stretched Liddell and Little ...

Re: The Kevin Durant Problem

It's all fool's gold. They've played really well for what, 4 games? Bless their hearts. And maybe 1 of those 4 games was a tough game? Outside of the admittedly impressive CLE win, what have they done exactly? Played well for about a week and a half against teams they should always ...

Re: The Kevin Durant Problem

You have to cash out on KD before he’s essentially worthless. The time to trade him was last year or at the deadline, but you certainly can’t wait beyond this summer. He could get injured or start declining at any moment, not to mention his age itself will start turning teams off from giving up any ...

Re: POLL: Budenholzer’s future

It doesn't bother anyone that he sat Dunn and Oso for 6 weeks while the team played lifeless losing basketball. He has chosen to play the highest salaried players over the other guys like Dunn, Oso and Gillespie. He actually played Martin and what I have seen from that guy, he can have Allen's ...

Maybe we should try not taking the least amount of shots compared to our opponent.

Really instructive -- without the stupid TOs the Suns would be winning a lot more games.

Re: 2025 Play-In Watch(5 wins to go? Honestly 4 might do it)

Went 3-1 in the last 4 to take over the 10 seed. Now we just gotta match wins with Dallas. Schedule breaks up into a murderers row over the next 10(Which includes 4 games against the 3 best teams in Cleveland, BostonX2, and OKC. Plus Mil X2, Houston, Minny, NYK, and GS) then two winnable games ...

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Suns make a run at the end of the season now. This lineup is almost exactly what you need around Durant and Booker. Toughness, size, grit.

Re: 2025 Play-In Watch(8 wins to go? Honestly 6 might do it)

We’re just 1.5 games out of 10th(3 games ahead of Portland in 12th). Dallas is completely decimated at this point and probably has 5 wins max left in them, which would put them at 38-44. We own the tie breaker, so getting to 38 wins should be enough. That means we need to go 7-8 to finish the s ...

Re: The Kevin Durant Problem

This KD interview on the Draymond Green podcast is wild. He makes it pretty clear that the Suns called him at the trade deadline and asked him if he was okay with being traded to Golden State, but he said no, because he didn't want the Warriors to have to give up so much and disrupt the team in the ...

Let's not kid ourselves - when they traded for Durant it was in part because they had slipped from the contenders in the West, and the main reason for that was the decline of Chris Paul. And they have never adquately replaced Paul. Trading Paul for Beal was a mistake because it created a redundancy ...

I'm not firing the coach unless the plan is to keep Booker. In which case I am only firing Bud if Book is wanting it after KD is shipped out. I'm not taking any other player's thoughts in mind. My hope this time next year is that Booker, Dunn, Oso and maybe Bol are the only players left from this ...

Given the very poor draft assets the Suns will have, I'm all for sticking with James Jones, who seems to draft better late than early.

Brad Beal is not a bad basketball player. He played well today. He just makes too much money, and he's too redundant with our other stars. Just terribly misused, there is a big part of me that wonders if Booker will end up getting moved. Jones is not a bad player, either. Just the Booker and KD ...

I think we're all a bit depressed about the state of the Suns. Ishbia took a big risk to go for a championship. The risks have materialized and the Suns have very limited resources going forward. IMO Tyus would be a really effective bench PG when we don't have many of our Big 3 guys out there. Starting him kind of wastes him on offense (just bring the ball up and hand it to KD) and he's bad on defense, so there's no point to playing him.
Isn't the real problem KD, not Tyus?
