So I’m still unclear on this. Prior to July 10, does this reduce his cap hold? In other words, do we still have the exact same amount of cap space as we would have had with Knight under contract?

It's impossible for them to not make the playoffs for 10 years after only 9 years.

EDIT: Unless you meant it would be at least 10 seasons between playoffs appearances if they miss out this year.
