A bunch of people died today, including my friends cousin, because we as a nation don't have enough guns.
Can someone change the channel? I'm getting really fucking sick of this one.

Re: RIP Dr. Wayne Dyer
1. I said it's sad he died. 2. I said it's good that people found hope and inspiration in his words, even though I find them to be nonsense. 3. I did NOT harp on the fact that much of his philosophy was plagiarized, or that he made many millions of dollars rehashing someone else's words. All I did w...

You still don't know what you're talking about, "bro." But by all means, don't let that stop you. Fist pump! In case you missed it, you were the one to use bro first, while completely discarding Nodack's post. So, I won't let it stop me. Not that I'm actually doing anything aside from dis...

Re: Gay marriage
I think that a lot of churchgoers are, or are becoming, okay with gay people. Maybe some silly things like this incident need to happen to help the organized religions figure out a way to modernize their beliefs. Even the Pope is saying that maybe gay marriage is not so bad. They are, and that's gr...

Re: RIP Dr. Wayne Dyer
Clive Cussler has written many books; it doesn't make him good. I don't need to read a book about "higher consciousness" to call it bullshit. Sorry for not being down with your guy, "bro." I'm glad you enjoyed his writing and found inspiration in it, and as I said, it's sad he di...

Re: RIP Dr. Wayne Dyer
Not to be a dick, but he peddled bullshit. It's sad that he died, because a lot of people bought into his philosophy and he seems like he had a good heart. But I don't really understand why he's a story, without the whole story.

Re: Lafayette Shooting
I don't know if that's completely fair. I don't think Dan wants EVERYONE to own a gun. But he wants people to be able own guns, and doesn't like restrictions on that which often serve no real purpose. I agree with him here. Obviously, we disagree on a lot of other parts to this issue. But that's OK....

Comparing the two isn't really helpful. She's a bigot, not ISIS.Nodack wrote:In her mind she is doing what is right and has God on her side.
If you ask an ISIS member what they are doing they will give you the same answer.

You think people should be forced to control their firearms, to the extent that they can be charged with a crime if their firearms are used to commit a crime where they were found negligent of controlling them. And I believe you mentioned something in the past about having some type of registration...

In the interest of fair debate, though, if the first amendment is untouchable, why do you support tax breaks for your church? It's the same constitution.

Re: Lafayette Shooting
And again, in the parlance of the day, well-regulated meant in good working order. Your opinion on the matter is moot after the Heller decision. As Cooke said, if you don't like it, amend it. Well regulated MILITIA not well regulated guns. Also, no. It actually meant basically what it means now. Se...
