Re: 2018 Trade Deadline
So because we're wasting money on Knight it's ok to waste money on Clarkson? That logic doesn't make sense Point being that in the grand scheme of things, Clarkson's contract isn't actually that terrible. He certainly produces more than Chandler, Knight, or Dudley. I'd swap any of those three for C...

Re: 2018 Trade Deadline
He's better than you guys are giving him credit for. And we have leverage over the Lakers to get another asset too. He's getting paid $26 million over the next two years and he's not a starter-quality point guard. And what are the Lakers going to throw in? Randle? And we're paying 15m per year for ...

Re: 2018 Trade Deadline
He's a top-20 player according to RPM, above Kyrie Irving. If he's available, you have to do it. Walker / Booker / Warren is enough to ensure a good offense. Right now, we really only have 2 players who are capable of going off for 20 any given night. Monroe has to be part of the deal. Bender and Ch...

Re: 2018 Trade Deadline
Most of our big contracts expire next year, in the summer of 2019. Chandler and Dudley both come off the books. Brandon Knight is a freaking albatross. About the best we can do is just play him next year, because as bad as he is, he's still (probably) marginally better than Canaan and Ullis. I don't...

Re: Suns News: Week 13 1/8-1/14
We're giving both Dragan and Bender plenty of minutes. Worth noting is that the Suns have had one of the easiest schedules so far this year, and have the toughest schedule in the NBA for the rest of the season, based on winning percentages. Stop for a minute though, and consider how well they are do...

Re: Suns News: Week 13 1/8-1/14
He can't be much worse than Bender and Chriss, who have two of the worst RPMs and TPAs in the league. Apparently you don't pay attention to trends. I do. Bender started the year among the worst... and he's still right there. http://www.espn.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/page/12/sort/RPM Chriss is still ...

Re: Suns News: Week 13 1/8-1/14
Has anyone been tracking on Alec Peters in the G-League? He's a pure three point shooter (most shots he takes are 3's), hits a high percentage (40.2%), plays PF, adequate rebounder. He has a quick release and a fairly high stroke. Closing out on him is a PITA as a result. He's not a big white stiff....

Per NBA rules, Mike James cannot be traded this season as a result of being on an upgraded 2-way contract.1tinsoldier wrote:James worked for it and has earned a spot on an NBA team.specialsauce wrote:+10000000Split T wrote:Does Canaan have to leave when Booker comes back? Can we cut James instead?

Ulis, Bender and Jackson have the 9th, 6th and 4th worst Real Plus Minus ratings in the NBA.
The team desperately needs 3 point shooting, and help at the PG and PF positions. Bender and Chriss are really bad.

Re: Suns News: Week 6 11/20-11/26
We are 7 and 11. Keep in mind that: 1. We started out 0-3, losing two of them by 40+ 2. We have $90M in salary under contract. 3. Almost every game this season has been played without 4 of our 5 top paid players 3a. Some nights it has be all five of our top 5 players 3b. On nights without 4 out of t...

Re: Bledsoe traded to Bucks
Absolute smartest thing we can do with Monroe: Play him, build his value, trade him for someone with an ugly contract that lasts two years (instead of one). That way, in two years when CHandler, Dudley, Knight, and the stiff we got for Monroe come off the books we'll have a ton of cap space to shoot...

Re: Bledsoe traded to Bucks
Bad trade overall. I like Monroe more than most, and his defense has evolved to the point of "average" according to DRPM. However... he's only under contract this year. We don't have big free agency money coming up in two years. Him coming off the books at the end of the season really does...

Re: Bledsoe wants out!
Honestly, his contract would have more value if he keeled over and died at mid-court right now, because at least then the insurance company would cover the remainder of his salary.

Re: Bledsoe wants out!
From what I'm hearing, Bled likely won't be traded until at least December 15th, and then up to the deadline. We're in no hurry to move him.
AT this point, expiring contracts and draft picks is where I'd like this to go. Or, a salary cap dump of Bled + Knight. Neither will ever play here again.

Re: Game Day: Blazers (0-0) @ Suns (0-0), Wed 10/18/17
Shooting, passing, and defense are areas where we've got nothing. In particular, our 3 pt shooting is crap. Booker and Warren are horrible defenders. Bender and Chriss are dreadful at both ends. Knight is dead contract weight. Chandler and Bled need a change of scenery. Warren's contract is likely t...

Re: Game Day: Jazz (3-0) @ Suns (1-1), Mon 10/9/17
This is going to be a really bad team this year. Tyson Chandler and Dudley are vets on a team going nowhere, being paid $10m per year to babysit. Len has shown signs of life in the preseason. He's also probably leaving after we didn't really offer him more than the QO. At PF, I love Williams... but ...

Re: TJ Warren gets 4yrs/50 mill
Way too much for TJ. Terrible defender, can't space the floor, kind of a black hole of ball movement. Awful Real Plus Minus.
He should be getting less than Williams, purely based on performance.

Indy didn't "forget" Knight. It's called suppression. I almost guarantee Knight will never play another minute in a Suns uniform. He's butt hurt, and he's terrible. Maybe not Marcus Banks terrible, but close. And we're paying him a lot more. I shudder to think wahat we will have to surren...

Re: Around the League: The Offseason
I'd take Brooklyn's for two reasons. 1. I think they have less potential to be decent. They might not be terrible, but there is no way that pick drops out of the top 8. Our pick could end up 10-12. 2. If we had the Brooklyn pick instead of ours, we could just win games and Brooklyn could tank for u...

Re: Suns News: The Offseason
Do the Suns need a combo guard? We can survive with what we have, but Id feel more comfortable with a real shooter. With the roster as is, we will be seeing a lot of DJJ at shooting guard and a lot of Mike James at point when Bledsoe has his inevitable injury. It sounds like you're trying to win ga...
