Re: RC Buford: Executive Of The Year

It's lame that McDonough didn't win this award. But then I remember that it is not even an official NBA award; the GMs collectively agree on it together, but it is not officially or directly sanctioned by the NBA. It's a meaningless non-award. Sour grapes. F**k RC Buford and his stupid award; he doe...

Re: Around the League: May 2014

Mark Jackson speaks about his firing: I want to thank the Warriors organization for giving me a chance and thank the incredible fans in the area. And thank my players who I love and appreciate. We accomplished a lot in three years and we should be proud. I wish them nothing but the best. But to me,...

Re: Second Round: Miami Heat (2) vs. Brooklyn Nets (6)

So much for going 4-0 against the Heat during the regular season. This cake walk that Miami will have to the NBA Finals may work against them. A battle-tested Western Conference champion may hit them in the mouth harder than they may be ready for. And I think that WC champion is going to be the Cli...

Re: Second Round: Miami Heat (2) vs. Brooklyn Nets (6)

I don't think the Wiz have good enough shooters to really punish Miami. Love Beal, but I don't really trust anybody else to hit a big 3 or shot under pressure.

Re: Second Round: OKC Thunder (2) vs LA Clippers (3)

If you haven't done it yet, watch KD's MVP acceptance speech. He's so sincere and humble; it's really moving. Thanks his mom and talks about all the hardship his family went through to get him where he is today. Durant is a sweet guy and he's all class. I want nothing but the best for him. http://ft...

Second Round: Miami Heat (2) vs. Brooklyn Nets (6)

Here's our thread for the MIA/BKN series. Personally I think this one will be boring because I don't think the Nets are nearly good enough to challenge the Heat. But we'll see.

Second Round: San Antonio Spurs (1) vs. Portland Blazers (5)

Didn't get a message up before Game 1 of this series, but this one has the potential to be one of the best series of the second round. I think the Spurs will roll over the Blazers, myself. Not enough experience on that PDX roster at this level of the playoffs.

Re: Around the League: May 2014

He deserved it. He didn't work hard; he famously would never stay late or work long weeks, saying that rest is just as important. He also clashed in weird ways with almost every assistant coach on the team, leading to two of them being fired or reassigned. He had weird substitution patterns (like &q...

Re: Donald "Piece of Crap" Sterling at it again

I get bummed out when they change an iconic character to be a minority just so the cast will be more diverse. They did that in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy; they made Ford Prefect black. Ford Prefect is NOT black. He most definitely is not "Mos Def". It was a horrible choice. That movi...

Re: Suns News: Week of 4/14-4/20

Danny Ferry though seems more concerned with not sucking than he is building a contender. He's chasing mediocrity. I don't agree with this part. I don't think he is one of those guys who just wants to make it to the playoffs and be mediocre every year. He seemed actually regretful that the Hawks ma...

Re: Second Round: OKC Thunder (2) vs LA Clippers (3)

I would make that trade in a heartbeat. Ibaka is a freaking stud. Of course, Kevin Love is my real target, but Ibaka has become one of the top PFs in the NBA.

Re: Second Round: Indiana Pacers (1) vs. Washington Wizards

Chris Webber is so horrendous as an in-game analyst. And how upset is Bobcat/Hornet fan that their team passed up Bradley Beal to draft Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. Ouch. And I'll be honest, I would have made that same mistake. MKG had huge hype that year. I think what we're seeing the past few years is...

Re: Second Round: Indiana Pacers (1) vs. Washington Wizards

I thought for sure that Indy would find their stride now after the close call they faced in the first round. But it seems that they don't start trying until their backs are against the wall. That team is messed up. Wiz very well could go to the ECF; that's nuts.

Re: Second Round: OKC Thunder (2) vs LA Clippers (3)

Clippers are running away with this one so far in the first half, on OKC's home floor. I picked LAC to win this series because I think they're just a better balanced team overall than the Thunder. I do think Durant is going to have a monster series, but the Clips big men (both Blake and DJ) are havi...

Re: First Round: L.A. Clippers (3) vs. Golden State Warriors

Side note: I can't believe how far Jared Dudley has fallen off this season for the Clips. He is basically out of the rotation. And we got Eric Bledsoe for this guy? Can you imagine the current Clips plus Bledsoe? That'd be downright nasty. They could have kept him and probably been title favorites, ...

Re: First Round: L.A. Clippers (3) vs. Golden State Warriors

Can they afford to keep Draymond Green? I think he's due for a new contract, and he may command more $$ than they can give him now that he played so well in this postseason. I hope he stays.
