Re: First Round: Toronto Raptors (3) vs. Brooklyn Nets (6)
Despite all their flaws, the Raptors could be the team advancing, if Lowry had just passed the ball when he was TRIPLE, arguably QUADRUPLE, teamed. Instead he tried to play hero ball and got stuffed. There was contact on the play, but you probably don't get that call in the last seconds of a Game 7....

Re: First Round: Houston Rockets (4) vs. Trail Blazers (5)
Rockets proved to be soft. They need to get a lot tougher, angrier. They didn't seem to play with any urgency. Blazers had the eye of the tiger. Rockets need to work on their perimeter defense and on having better execution in general. I hate what is happening to Harden's game now that he is "...

Re: First Round: San Antonio Spurs (1) vs. Dallas Mavericks
What a blowout. I have to say, I'm happy. I'm rooting for the Spurs to go all the way this year. I would have been really bummed out to see them lose here. The Mavs played them tight but the better team advances.

Side note: How badly miscast is Seth Rogan as the bumbling old square husband in this "Neighbors" movie they keep advertising? He's a pothead goofball, not a stiff old grump.

Re: First Round: Toronto Raptors (3) vs. Brooklyn Nets (6)
I want the Raptors to win, but they don't seem to really know how to put a solid 4 quarters of basketball together. Jonas V is decent but he seems really clunky and stiff on a lot of plays to me. Demar Derozan is a guy I would NOT want on my team for big money. Lowry is their real gem, most of the t...

We really need the old site to point to this one but I doubt that will end up happening. It is a shame because it was a big community that has now been scattered and will probably never be brought back together. I sent Sose a Facebook message asking him to do that forwarding, but he never replied. ...

Re: First Round: Houston Rockets (4) vs. Trail Blazers (5)
I don't think McHale is a great coach. He hasn't figured out how to use Howard and Asik well, either together or apart. And he didn't adjust well to LaMarcus Aldridge going NBA2K god mode on them. But he's not a horrible coach for the players they have. It's not clear that they could get a big upgra...

Re: First Round: L.A. Clippers (3) vs. Golden State Warriors
Dang, as a Bay Area resident, I'm really bummed that the Warriors are out of the playoffs. But I do believe that the better team clearly won. The Ws couldn't get a stop down the stretch. They'd pull the game close, within 2-3 points, and then they'd just let DJ dunk a lob on them on the next play. T...

Re: First Round: OKC Thunder (2) vs. Memphis Grizzlies (7)
I'm really bummed that Z-Bo isn't going to be playing in Game 7. This could have been an amazing day of basketball today, with three Game 7s in a row and three plausible upsets brewing. But now I just don't think there is any way that Memphis will be able to compete with OKC. They lost their leading...

Funny how the guy on the marquee 1 seed franchise doesn't get suspended, but the guy whose team is opposite a ratings giant in OKC does. Hmm.

The paper was just poking the hornet's nest. They just wanted to rile him up so that he'd get mad and destroy Memphis in Game 6. But it was still a bush league thing to do. Not smart.

That NAACP thing was basically a money grab. He gave them money, so they agreed to give him an award in turn. It's embarrassing, but it is how organizations seem to do business these days. Sad.

I just want to see Len stay healthy. It's a real bummer if he will have ongoing leg/foot/ankle/etc. problems. I just want his ceiling to be set by his own talent and hard work, not some dumb injury problems.

Re: First Round: OKC Thunder (2) vs. Memphis Grizzlies (7)
Well now they're going to Game 7. Memphis just blew their best shot at it. If the Grizz want it, they're going to have to do it on OKC's home floor. That'll be a tall order. I won't count either team out yet, but OKC just weathered the toughest storm.

Magic Johnson is wealthy, but he doesn't have enough money to buy an NBA team. It'd be Magic plus a partnership of billionaires.Phoenix219 wrote:It will be absolutely disgusting if Magic ends up owning the team over this.
Why would it be bad if Magic and his group owned the Lakers "over this"?

The second way is no database—simply involving e-mails, Word documents and Excel spreadsheets shared among the front office. And the third, which is the trendiest, is a password-protected online account through basketball website RealGM.com. Eleven teams are now involved, including the Nets, Pacers...
