Re: RE: Re: Suns News: The Offseason (2016)

Oh, and the dedication to a 2 PG lineup. I really hope that dies... That really confuses me. I thought that was Hornacek's doing but maybe it is McDonough? I guess we'll find out going forward if we stick with it or not. Has anyone ever asked McDonough if he considers Knight to be a competent PG?

Re: Suns News: The Offseason (2016)

Babby is just one of many we need to subtract. It would be interesting to build a recap of the players, coaches and managers that Sarver inherited when he bought this team and see what has happened to them since he either whacked them or traded them. I expect we will find that most have done well i...

Re: Around the League: Playoffs

Fair enough. But what do you think the ceiling is with this roster? I think that if we add our draft pick and maybe one decent FA signing, with a healthy Bledsoe, this squad is capable of being a .500 team. We've all just watched Knight stink it up so much that I think we might be undervaluing Bled...

Re: Around the League: Playoffs

I would've taken Vogel in a heartbeat. Watson won't do anything for us. Players will be sick of him by all-star. Mark it down. Consider it marked. I don't know about by all-star, but I just think we will go nowhere with Watson as our coach. I think he will turn out to be a bad coach. I also think t...

Re: 2nd round playoffs thread

All year people were saying that the East was now the power conference. But most of their teams are just "good" and not great. Hawks, Celtics, Hornets, Pacers, not real contenders. I don't believe in the Raptors at all; that franchise has too many issues. Miami is really good (I picked th...

Mike had a very short stint with the Nuggets. While not the NBA he was very successful in Europe as a player and as a coach for many years.

Re: Around the League: Playoffs

https://twitter.com/ESPNSteinLine/status/728041929422725120 Bad fit, imho. Nash had the ball in his hands all the time and fed it to whoever felt right. Harden is perfectly capable of handling that usage, can run a pick and roll and he can pass. The key would be how tolerant are the rest of the pla...

Re: Around the League: Playoffs

I would've taken Vogel in a heartbeat. Watson won't do anything for us. Players will be sick of him by all-star. Mark it down. Bird's kind of a weird guy tho. He's got this thing about coaches needing to move on after 3 years, which he also did as coach of the Pacers. Then he said Vogel didn't lose...

You are totally incorrect. http://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/sam-mellinger/article73515637.html http://www.nba.com/spurs/earl-watsons-pyramid-success OK, so he spent time with Wooden. It appears like they spent their time talking about the birds and the bees, which is not a bad thi...

Re: Around the League: Playoffs

Not to continue to be negative on Watson but the use of John Wooden as reference point is purely name dropping. Lavin was his coach and Wooden was about 100 years old while sitting in the stands. As I remember Wooden really stepped away from any true involvement in the UCLA team after he retired fr...

Re: Around the League: Playoffs

Another factor is that Walton has at least been around and worked closely with several very good coaches in Kerr and Phil Jackson. Phil in particular groomed Luke Walton for years to be a coach and let him go to coaching meetings. So I have more faith that he has learned a few things despite his re...

Re: Around the League: Playoffs

I'd bet Watson is exposed as a fraud before Walton. Walton's IQ is off the charts. I guess we are the lone rangers in this argument Shell, so be it. Watson has been part of losing situations for most of his NBA career. Walton has been part of winning situations for most of his career, as a player a...

Re: Around the League: Playoffs

Do you have any information to back up your statements, JWB. Gentry was originally in charge of the offense and then Kerr while Ron Adams has been in charge of the defense. I contend that Watson will end up being the better coach. Certainly Gentry was there to design the offense last year. However ...

He's going to make $5M/yr. Wow.
How much are we paying Watson?

I doubt the Lakers will have to hire someone to take care of the x's and o's in LA.

I believe Walton handled that trivial task in Golden State while Kerr was recovering.

Re: Around the League: Playoffs

He makes sense there. Has lots of history with the team, and their current roster is young and will do well with a young vibrant coach. Great hire by the Lakers. It should work out well for both parties. With Kobe and Scott are gone, I expect that they will again become the free agent destination o...

Re: NBA Draft Prospects Discussion

I have not seen much on Denzel Valentine. I really do not know all that much about him but he did play 4 years in a very good program for Tom Izzo and Tom loved him. While we need just about everything I really think legit ball movement is by far the biggest issue. Booker appears to be a more than w...

Re: Around the League: Week 25 4/11 - 4/17

That is what concerns me about Watson. Sarver has made so many idiotic management and player decisions since he has been owner, I have little trust in any move this franchise makes. Except hiring Ryan McDonough, apparently. Welcome JWB. I am a fool and supported the hiring of McDonough. I went alon...

Thanks Bone, and thanks for the help on registration. I just do not who's soup Jerry West crapped in. He always has seemed a great guy and certainly one of the best players that ever lived. I have no idea why he is not still with them. Unlike a Robert Sarver owned teamed the Lakers have usually been...
