Re: 2014-15 Phoenix Suns salary cap landscape
I'd be pretty happy going in to next season with a guard rotation of Gogi, Bled, Green and Archie with spot minutes going to a rookie/project and/or a 3rd string PG (Jahii Carson? Stauskas?).

Re: 2014-15 Phoenix Suns salary cap landscape
That whole list is one big "Meh."
I'd pass on making a big FA move and try and improve through trade. Monroe is obviously the most intriguing name, but he's probably looking for a max deal.

Goran Wins Most Improved

Congrats to Gogi.
Hopefully his career trends the way of past winners like Kevin Love, Zach Randolph and Paul George and not former Suns Boris Diaw, Hedo Turkoglu and Aaron Brooks.

Re: Phoenix Suns 2014: Offseason Moves
My thing with Chandler is that he still leaves us with no post offense, hes an upgrade from Plumlee, but really with another year of wear and tear how much of an actual upgrade is he? I don't think people realize how truly awful Miles Plumlee is in the post. He has some nice footwork and moves, but...

Re: Phoenix Suns 2014: Offseason Moves
I'm a big Tyson Chandler fan and a lot of what he brings doesn't show up on paper. If we didn't have Frye or Dragic or Tucker, I'd be more inclined to bring him in because of his hard work and leadership ability. He's legit and can help a young team with his presence on and off the court. But becau...

Re: Phoenix Suns 2013-2014: Year In Review
I think you're a little too high on Olynyk. He's 2.5 years older than Len and while he has good offensive upside, he's likely always going to be a defensive negative.
When Olynyk was Len's age he was averaging 5.8 ppg for Gonzaga.

I'm counting on it.TheOriginalOriginal wrote:Ehhhh... Chandler has A LOT of Miles on him. Len would have to show he's ready for 20+ min a night.
Next year is also the last on Chandler's deal, so it wouldn't be the biggest risk.

Re: Phoenix Suns 2014: Offseason Moves
If we strike out in free agency and are determined to take another big step forward next season, here's a trade I would consider: Miles Plumlee for Tyson Chandler. (with a few caveats, such as a big step forward from Len in the Summer, and Chandler entering the season healthy and without a giant for...

We just lost the "coin-toss" for the 17th pick with Brooklyn from our Washington pick. We get #18.

Re: Phoenix Suns 2014: Offseason Moves
I'm torn on Monroe. Really solid player, but not the greatest fit for our system and needs. He's also probably expecting a max deal, when he doesn't deserve more than a Noah/Horford type deal (if that).

Re: Phoenix Suns 2013-2014: Year In Review
INF, there's a bit of a catch-22 involved here when judging McD's draft. If he hadn't done such a good job with his other moves, then the team would likely have not been in a playoff race and would have given Len and Archie significantly more minutes to develop (and more opportunity for us to evalua...

Re: Phoenix Suns 2014: Offseason Moves
I don't think Marcus Morris is worth much more than the minimum in that we could easily find a player that gives us 85-115% of his production for exactly that amount. Good spot up 3 pt shooter, decent rebounder at the 3, not much else.

They're probably sitting Duncan tonight, but they're such a well-oiled machine that they could roll out their bottom 5 and beat most teams in the league. We can't take them lightly at all.

I don't think Ish is a better backcourt-mate for Dragic than Archie. And while Shav is probably a better rebounder, our interior D was getting smoked. I think Len's better in that area. Shav can barely jump.
