Re: The Check-In Thread
My wife and I have been fine, thankfully. I got laid off at the end of April, but luckily was able to land a new, much higher paying role that I will be starting on Monday. I had the antibody test done for my new job and it came back positive. I do recall feeling a little off for a few days in Febru...

Re: Coronavirus: When should we be concerned?
Agreed-thanks for the perspective, Sauce. I'd trust your opinion over hers. She was adamant that the test and lab running the results was close to 100% accurate, which just cannot be true. I'm about 10 minutes from the NY border in the hardest hit county in CT, so maaaaybe my results are accurate be...

Re: Coronavirus: When should we be concerned?
A phlebotomist came to my house today to draw my wife's blood for her antibody test, since she can get it done for free at my company as well. I asked the woman a few questions about the test and she said she's been in the field for 25 years and swears by the results based on the lab used for the re...

Re: Racism in the US
I agree that the key is exposure. I saw both of those videos and am still recovering from watching the one in Minny. It just hurts to the core. I don't know how true it is, but it seems as though that officer has killed before. I haven't watched the video yet, but I'm not sure I want to. It's tough...

Re: Coronavirus: When should we be concerned?
So, just got my antibody results back and apparently I had a positive result. Could explain why I felt a little off in February at some point, but not sure how much I trust the results seeing as how I'm 2 hours East of the cesspool known as NYC. It was a SARS-Cov-2 Serology test and the IgG result ...

Re: Coronavirus: When should we be concerned?
The notion that we are counting deaths due to chronic conditions as COVID deaths simply because they test positive is asinine. That is coming from a group of people that have no idea what the fuck they’re talking about, medically speaking. I can explain further if wanted but I’ll just leave it at t...

it is worth every penny, especially when you get the 50% of a year. honestly better than anything you read from the local paper or ESPN. Thanks for sharing In2. Indy, hard time paying for content when journalists tend to break all the news and rumors on twitter for free these days. Understandable, ...

Re: Coronavirus: When should we be concerned?
Wow, that's insane, Nodack. I would have flipped out if I were you. I decided to just buzz my head two weeks ago, and will probably continue doing so for the foreseeable future, even as barber shops open up here in CT next week. I'm not going to risk it, and idiots like the one you described are wha...

Re: Coronavirus
I got my stimulus check ~2 weeks ago, and was surprised at how quickly it came. I read articles that outlined the payment timings, and that someone of my income level should expect it in late August while they process those with a lower income first. I remember being pleasantly surprised, and chuck...

Wow, I feel even more like a jerk now, whining about 5 days of unemployment, which is nothing compared to what you've faced. Good luck and I hope you can get your situation squared away quickly.

Re: Democratic primary watch
I have seen the allegations against Biden by this woman just about every day for the past month. I would be willing to disqualify Biden in a heart beat if the same standard was held to Trump, who has sexual assault claims against him by well over 20 women. What about you BigLewy? Do you believe all...

Re: Democratic primary watch
I just don't know what we should do with accusations like this. It seems like with #MeToo the default is to believe all women, but I don't think it is right to just assume guilt. To me, "believe women" means to look into things and investigate them. But I still believe strongly in the bur...

Re: Democratic primary watch
Actually shocked CNN posted this, but I'm sure it will be crickets as usual, even though there appears to be much more behind these allegations than with the Kavanaugh circus. The more Biden stays silent, the worse it looks for him, IMO. https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/25/politics/tara-reade-mom-larry-k...

Re: Coronavirus
I don’t believe China fabricated the virus to take down the world. It happens in nature and we never know when it will occur. What if the virus started in the US? Would we be responsible for paying back the world? How many viruses had happened in the past and how many times did the world want payme...

One can hope, but I'm not going to count on it. This pandemic can't end quick enough. Even the thought of interviewing and training now, all virtual? So hard to do.

Lost my job on Friday, so that's great. Thanks China and Trump. Nothing like going from promoted up to management to the unemployment line in 3 months.

Re: Coronavirus
What’s wrong with the people in Michigan? They have one of the highest per capita Covid-19 death rates and yet they’re yelling in the streets that they want to go back to work and railing against their governor. Sadly, it's another way to weed out the idiots of society, of which there are way too m...
