Re: Suns All-Time Top 10
"Stumpy" could really score. I was a little surprised he made it to the Hall of Fame, but he had a great college career at UCLA, so that was obviously what seperated him from the pack. I think Van's tenacity and dependability has kind of been forgotten over the years. If there aver was a ...

Re: Suns All-Time Top 10
He was a Sun for only two seasons, but Gail Goodrich deserves a mention. After a stellar college career at UCLA (winning two NCAA championships), Goodrich was a third guard for the Lakers behind Jerry West and Archie Clark. Lakers did not protect him in the expansion draft, and Suns management grabb...

I like Sobers, if for nothing else, that he elbowed and shoved Rick Barry in the 76 Western Conference finals.
Barry was MIA for the rest of the game.

Elvin Hayes, at that time with the Rockets, said that if Hawkins tried Globetrotter moves in an NBA game, Hayes would personally shut him down. Sure enough, in the Suns first game against the Rockets, Hawkins isolated on Hayes, made one of his patented one-handed fakes and glided by Hayes for a fing...

Re: Suns All-Time Top 10
Majerle probably would be high on the list of most popular Suns.
I heard an interview with Tom Chambers once wherein TC said that Majerle had ridiculously strong wrists, which made it easy for him to toss up 28-30 foot three pointers ...

Re: Suns All-Time Top 10
Silas for Gary Gregor proved to be a one-sided trade, with Silas having a long career and Gregor out of pro ball by age 28.
Silas had been stuck behind Bill Bridges and Zelmo Beaty (two very good players) in the Hawks lineup.

Re: Suns All-Time Top 10
That's a good list. I've been watching the Suns since the first season. I might find a way to put Chambers in there, but I don't know who he'd replace. Hawkins meant so much in the franchise's early days, because fans came to games to see him. Van Arsdale and Goodrich were very good players, but not...

I wouldn't mind having him back if he ever wants to return and be kind and considerate to others. That’s not his nature. Being kind and considerate to others would defeat the entire purpose of his existence. Ladmo was unique and, at times, entertaining. I remember his "Ladmo's Bags" threa...

There was a minor influx of Chinese players after the drafting of the Great Walking Wall -- Ming, Wang ZhiZhi and Mengke Bateer. That faded after Ming retired. Wang was primarily a one-dimensional mid-range shooter and Mengke was pathologically slow.

A classic.
Up there with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing "La Bamba" (I'm not making it up, I swear).
Or a young, All-American girl-boy duo singing "One Toke Over The Line, Sweet Jesus" on Lawrence Welk ...
and Welk thinking it was some sort of a religious song ...

Vogel is a very good defensive coach. MDA was not. You still have to have guys that can and will execute the scheme. I'm not saying he absolutely doesn't have that here, but I think there is enough there for a moderate level of concern. I'm reminded how many thought Skiles was a good defensive coac...

Thanks for giving me another reason to dislike Draymond. Ayton’s highest scoring average is still the season before CP got here. It was never able to recover with CP here. C'mon ... you mean the season Ayton missed a chunk of time for a failed drug test? And played only 38 games? When you ignore co...

Heat lost Vincent, Strus, and Oladipo.
Oladipo not as much, but the other two losses hurt. Both had good playoff runs.
Wonder what sort of move Miami plans for a major signing?
