I find that a little weird also.
This is one of the weirdest trade deadlines I can remember across the league.

Re: 2022 Trade Deadline Talk

Interesting list of buy out candidates. Biggest one that be a "holy ****" moment is John Wall. Also, Satoransky is likely to become available, as is Thad Young. I think the Suns will trade for a 2/3 wing, wait on buy outs to kick the tires on Young and maybe Wall (if he's available, big if...

Payne's our primary back up PF.
I was with you Worm until this. ;)
I meant PG. Too many Cams.

Re: 2022 Trade Deadline Talk

Good post, agree with a lot of it. Not sure what the Spurs will do, but it's very unlikely they keep Thad. I like him as a 3/4/5, a bit bigger and stronger than Cam, taller than Jae and can matchup with a lot of different forwards and smaller 5s. I'm still holding out hope for Stix but it seems we'...

Re: 2022 Trade Deadline Talk

I think the most likely outcome from this trade season is: * Pick up Thad off of waivers. San Antonio has a good enough reputation with players they wouldn't mess it up by letting Thad rot for the rest of the season. Suns know it, and will wait it out. I like this: Thad's a legit PF, and his efficie...

Re: 2022 Trade Deadline Talk

Flex reporting the Suns are kicking the tires on Domatas Sabonis. Others reporting GSW is too. All seem to agree the Pacers are shopping him. I could see something like Justin Holiday & Sabonis for Ayton, Saric, and Smith. Sabonis is locked in at #$18M per year for two seasons after this. I coul...

Re: 2022 Trade Deadline Talk

Jeremy Lamb, Gary Harris, Robert Covington, and Thad Young would all be interesting to me. I think you have to kick the tires on Covington, Harris, Young, and Satoransky. The last might just need a change of venue. Remember, a few seasons ago he was a 45% 3-point shooter. Trade-wise, Barnes, Gordon...

Re: Suns News: Week 14 (1/17 to 1/23)

I'm taking this as good news https://twitter.com/KellanOlson/status/1485409509107372032?s=20 Thank the basketball Gods. Allen Grayson's flagrant 2 foul broke Alex Caruso's wrist, and he's out 4-6 weeks. So, this is relatively good news in the grand scheme of things. Going to answer whether Stix has...

Re: 2022 Trade Deadline Talk

I think that whatever the Suns pull off, it's going to come out of left field and no one will see it coming. Sort of like acquiring Torrey Craig last year. Sort of like calling in Bismack Biyombo this year (Does he remind anyone else of Mark West a la 1989?) Jones has a good eye for league role-play...

Re: Allegations of racism and misogyny within the Phoenix Suns: Inside Robert Sarver's 17-year tenure as owner

What Sarver's wife did, if this was a criminal or civil case, would be considered witness tampering. The lawyers from the law firm hired by the NBA to investigate the front office can't put people in jail or anything, but that's how they're going to see these actions, and not look upon them kindly: ...

Re: Game Day: Suns (3-3) vs Rockets (1-6) 2021-NOV-04

I don't really get the Nader bashing. He plays super hard on defense and was the only one that could slow down Gordon in the first half. As a 10th man he presses when he has the ball on offense and doesn't slow down to find the better play, but that is who he is. I don't think his offensive decisio...

Re: Game Day: Suns (1-1) @ Lakers (0-3), Sun 10/10/21

A few thoughts: 1. Bridges has added muscle 2. Cam Johnson really has added the turn around 3. Seeing Bridges and Johnson shooting the mid-range with confidence. That's the worst shot according to analytics, but it's something of a lost art and one of the best ways to break modern defenses. Having 4...

Thad Young is a phenomenal passer for a big. He might give us a different offensive look alongside Ayton and Cam.

Reportedly, Bridges has been working on his handles to take people off the dribble better.

Re: Around the League: Off-season

Ced who, Ceballos? What happened with him? Who did he wrong? I wish there was some way we could get Isaac from the Magic. He was a jerk at a Suns basketball camp my son attended way back. Based on the picture he posted, he's at the last stage before they intubate, put him on a vent, and start the E...

Re: The 2021 Suns Offseason

Chandler Hutchison is a two way contract on a player with no areas that really stand out, other than being above average rebounder for 6'6". This registers as a 1.2 on the Richter Scale: too small for any of us to even notice if it wasn't for the press release.

Re: Around the League: Off-season

Ben Simmons is done in Philadelphia. Don't expect the Suns to be involved: there's no way to make the salaries match with what we have on hand (Well, Ok, Crowder, Saric, Smith, and Ayton would work numerically, but we wouldn't do it) https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/ben-simmons-informs-76ers-he-wa...

Craig and Nader are totally different players. Craig served as a 4/5 in our offense. Nader is strictly a wing.
Agreed. Nader is a 2/3 (primarily 3), Craig was a 3/4 tweener forward.

Re: The 2021 Suns Offseason

We still haven't landed a replacement for Saric or Criag. Basically, a back up power forward / center with range, or athletic stopper at 3/4 who can hit the 3. Arguably Jalen Smith and Cam Johnson fill those roles respectively, but Smith is what he is (bad), and if either of Johnson or Craig miss a...
