Over the last 11 years New York has spent $205 million on just the luxury tax.
They aren't worried about paying an executive $12 million, they make so much off local cable tv that it's like printing their own money.

Re: Game Day: Suns (36-28) @ Celtics (22-43) , Fri 3/14/14
Tucker was a mixed bag. He needs to be under control. Personally I believe the call on his offensive rebound was not flawless, and they could have saved themselves the technical, but I wouldn't be surprised if refs would have taken his number. Depending on how he handles his relationship with the r...

Re: Number One Overall Draft Picks
Seems like I remember reading the Celtics pulling some chicanery (it was probably allowed then anyway) where they drafted Larry Bird after his junior year - and still retained his rights even though he returned for his senior season at Indiana State. Bird had sat out a year as a redshirt when he tr...

Boston is just a lot more active tonight, fortunately they can't really shoot the ball that well.
Offensively we're seeing to much of the standing around and not much moving the ball (10 assists through 3 quarters)

Re: Comics
I bought a lot of comics from 1975 up to a couple of years back (with a break in the 1990's when things got pretty bleak. Mostly Marvel, some DC and a smattering of smaller publishers. I still buy an occasional issue if I know something that interests me is coming out (Uncanny Avengers, Avengers: A....

Re: From the comic to the screen.
Fox and Sony's Marvel movies are somewhat hit and miss for me. Liked Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2 and X-Men, lukewarm on Fantastic Four, X2 and X-Men: First Class, The Wolverine; thumbs down to Daredevil, Spider-Man 3, X-Men: The Last Stand, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Ghost Rider. One of...

Re: Game Day: Suns (36-26) @ Clippers (44-20) , Mon 3/10/14
FYI - prior to 1966 teams could use a "territorial pick" to select a local player and then forfieted their #1 pick. This is how the Royals got Oscar Robertson and Jerry Lucas, the Celtics got Tommy Heinsohn, the Warriors got Wilt Chamberlain, the Knicks got Bill Bradley, the Pistons got Da...

It's certainly the exception rather than the rule. The money's just to good to pass up now.
