Re: Around the League: July 2014

Yeah, Morey messed this one up. He is normally a great GM but there have been comments coming out lately where players day they feel like they are just assets to be flipped. Morey needs to find a balance where he is always trying to improve but still takes care of his guys.

Re: Suns Summer League 2014

Kemdndall Marshall was a good passer, but that was literally all he was good at. I liked his potential as a bench PG, but the fact that he had an attitude sealed the deal for me.

Re: Around the League: July 2014

As a Bay Area guy now, I try to keep up a little bit on the Warriors. Here's an interview with Steve Kerr about his preparing to get started as a coach:

Re: Around the League: July 2014

Here is a fun link. Lists of what various teams would look like if every possible player from that area "came home" to play for them. Bulls and Wiz looking pretty good, as well as the Charlotte Hornets. http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/post/_/id/11214314/here-nba-look-every-player-pulled-le...

I can't believe the Spurs couldn't make a better offer than that for Pau.

That draft sucked. Whiffing on the #5 pick is pretty forgivable imo.

I agree with a lot of what you said about the D and thinking long term. But Bennett as a stretch 4? It remains to be seen whether he can even be an NBA rotation player.

Re: Isaiah Thomas to Suns in Sign and Trade

I think it's funny that the last time free agency overpaid so many guys was 2010, the last time Lebron and friends were FAs. That year, everybody who struck out on the big guys overpaid somebody else.

Re: Around the League: July 2014

Deng to Heat. 2/20mil. Glad his name stops being mentioned with us now. Would of been a bad fit. I would think that takes them out of the Bledsoe race, right? Well, for a max contract at least. I was just coming here to ask if anybody knows how much cap room they have left. If they can't make a max...

Re: Suns News: The Offseason

Darn. At least it is not one of his legs, back, etc. A broken finger is not a lingering injury, unless you're Kobe Bryant and foolishly keep playing with it.

Re: Isaiah Thomas to Suns in Sign and Trade

Hi Dr!! Welcome back! Yeah, we've been here for a few months now. Would love to get everybody back from the old site, but it's hard to reach everyone. I should reach out to Sose and ask him to forward the old URL to here, but I haven't done that yet. I agree that the IT2 signing is perplexing. I lik...

I wonder if it will bum out Len to see Nerlens Noel have a great Summer League when Noel was picked right after him.

Re: Isaiah Thomas to Suns in Sign and Trade

I agree that Bledsoe is now a bit of an awkward fit. But I also don't think I like the starting backcourt of IT2-Dragic (or IT2-Bledsoe), so I don't really see how the pieces go together here. Maybe the thinking is, hey, Hornacek made 2 PGs work, let's give him 3 and see what he can do. Or maybe the...

Re: LeBron Back to the Cavs

It would be an epic mistake to trade Wiggins. EPIC. Even if it is for Love. I have to disagree with this one. Lebron is in his prime now. Wiggins is what, 19? And I don't see anything to convince me that Wiggins is likely to be clearly as good/better than Love. Love is also more of the kind of play...

You're right; it doesn't make much sense. Then again, I don't think Deng is a serious target for us. I really doubt we'll get him.

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency

I know this is a ridiculous thing to say, but if the Heat's major change was to downgrade from Lebron to Bledsoe, I honestly think that isn't such a huge drop-off for them. They'd still be very competitive in the East as long as they sign a few depth guys, preferably some who can shoot 3s.

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency

That's why I don't get our pursuit of Deng. Let Miami sign him and eat up all their cap space. If we sign him, the Heat will just go after Bledsoe to screw us.

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency

Why would we want Deng? I like Luol but we have plenty of adequate SFs. We need a PF in the worst way.
