Re: Phoenix Suns 2014: Offseason Moves
BTW, I think that Jermaine on a vet min contract wouldn't be a bad insurance policy.

Re: Phoenix Suns 2014: Offseason Moves
SDC - you are entitled to your thoughts, and your belief that the Suns would have been better off making a rental to get into the playoffs. That being said, wouldn't you rather see a dynasty here built the right way? That's what almost everyone else is thinking -- how to not only build a contender b...

Re: Next Moves
I really dislike Westbrook. I know it's a little silly, but I'd much rather have Dragic than Westbrook on our team, and that's even before you start to consider salary. But stats don't really back me up on that one. It's a sentimental preference, a homer pick. Mori -- I think that there's some (unc...

Re: Phoenix Suns 2014: Offseason Moves
RW, I agree with your point that Frye and Dragic work well together. They always have, and will continue to do so, as long as Frye is hitting his shots. I believe that there is enough of a demand for stretch 4s that Frye would get a 4-5 million/year contract for 3-years. I do NOT, however, think tha...

Re: Phoenix Suns 2013-2014: Year In Review
IMHO, McMiracle did a great job not biting on the whole rental thing. Saving a few million dollars for Sarver is not a small thing, especially if those few million might be banked for future use. Saving a valuable draft pick is another. Perhaps most importantly, we have a better idea what our assets...

Re: Next Moves
Not with the salary difference. If the two players had equal salaries, I might still take Dragic as he's proven himself a team player. Given his production per salary output ratio, in addition to his strong attachment to the team, Dragic's the one player I consider untouchable. That being said, I wo...

Re: Next Moves
VT! It has been too long. Cap is around as well.
I am around but not posting much...only when I have something intelligent to say.
Learning much by following the convo, though.

Phoenix Suns 2014: Offseason Moves
As DC/Laz called it way back in December, the Suns ended up just like the Dallas Mavericks of 1999 and the Sacramento Kings soon afterwards. As a young team on the way up, the team just didn't have enough experience to win down the stretch. Now that they've played the equivalent of a first-round ser...

Re: Game Day: Suns (38-28) @ Nets (33-31) , Mon 3/17/14
We just look tired overall, no way we make the playoffs. Historically, this is the most common pitfall of young teams that make a splash early in the season. For another example look at Portland. Few of our players are used to being relied upon over 82-games, and the one ironman (Dragic) has been f...

Re: Happy Eric Bledsoe Day!
Regarding Dragic vs. Bledsoe, I think that I'd rather have Dragic because of his commitment to the organization. That being said, sign/trade Bledsoe or keep him. No point in letting him walk. If a team is making noises about signing him to a max contract, call their bluff and say that we'll match re...

Re: Get-to-know-you thread
I guess most of you know me, so I'll keep it brief. - Grew up in AZ watching KJ drive and dish, still consider him the gold standard for a Suns PG. - Went to college on the East Coast, spent some time working in NY, joined the board in 2001 but knew some of the old regulars (Cap/Tony, VTaltos) from ...

Oooh, hope she feels better soon. If she got to the hospital early enough, she should be fine in the long run.

Re: Is Alex Len a bust?
Oh, he's had some moments, which is a good sign. It's as bad sign, though, that he hasn't improved as the season has gone along, and that he's lost some of his confidence. I think that a stint in the D-league would be good for him...but the Suns need bodies for the playoff run.

I'm also happy about the way Hornacek is bringing the rookies along, meaning that they have to earn time on the court. It prevents them from developing bad habits.

Re: Is Alex Len a bust?
We won't know what we have until Year 3. Look at any of the better big men around the league. With the exception of athletic freaks Blake Griffin and Dwight Howard, how many dominated their first few years? Hibbert's a case in point. Also keep in mind that Len's not 100% physically yet. I'm thinking...
Re: Culburn
I haven't been active on phxsuns.net for quite some time and it's my second post on this board. That being said, I think that Dale/Cubby/Culburn should never be allowed anywhere near a Suns board given his racist comments and direct harassment of non-white posters on .net and elsewhere. It should ne...
