Re: Poll | LeBron James: Yes/No

This cracked me up. Dan Gilbert's letter from 2010 redacted and sent to Lebron now in 2014.

When you watch a clip like that, you can see why Isiah always seems to worm his way into positions of power. He's so smooth. He has an infectious smile, he's well-spoken, he's entertaining, charming, seems intelligent, seems to really have a feel for the game, etc.

Re: Channing Frye signs with Magic: 4 years, $32m

I don't hate the Frye signing for them, though the $$$ is too high. But if they wanted good shooters, why did they just dump Afflalo? He was great for them last year. Why get rid of him and bring in Ben Gordon?? Do they want to stink or compete here?

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency

Robot: As stupid as it was for the Lakers to give a $48.5 million contract for a clearly declining Kobe Bryant, at least it accomplishes one thing: It shows any potential FA, "We are the Lakers, and we take care of our free agents. Once you are here, you are family; you are a franchise lifer; w...

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency

OKC/Harden is a great example of the idea that you don't let your own star just leave for peanuts; you should keep the guy and figure it out at almost any cost. I really think we should not let Bledsoe leave as a free agent, especially since we have all the leverage given that he's an RFA. Try to ma...

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency

The "Lebron James, yes or no" thread is a good example of a simple thread about a single topic. I like it, even though we had been discussing Lebron rumors plenty already in other threads.

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency

I love how we are getting a pretty decent number of posts here lately on this "new" site. But I do think we have fallen into the rut of making giant threads like "free agency" or "draft" or "suns news: offseason" that just balloon to 35 pages long. If the Suns...

Channing Frye signs with Magic: 4 years, $32m

Well, if he got this kind of money, you have to just shake the guy's hand and wish him well. That's a ton of bread and I'm happy for him. But I would -NOT- want him here on that deal. So best of luck to him in ORL and thanks to him for so many great years. I think he was a good Sun and gave us a lot...

Re: Around the League: July 2014

A little overpaid I think, but he gave them real value in the Finals. I would worry that he would get fat and lazy now that he has a new multi year contract, though.

Marvin Williams can be left. I just don't think he is better than our existing mediocre forwards.

Really Lebron is asking for the impossible. They can't make the team any better if they max him out and also pay Wade and Bosh big money.

Re: Around the League: July 2014

I totally agree, Shel. Riley has become afflicted with his own "Disease of More". Rather than trying to hit a bunch of solid singles and doubles, he had been swinging for the fences on guys like Deng and Melo.

Re: Around the league: June 2014

It's a tricky balance. At the other end of the spectrum you have the Lakers who are all cap room and no players/assets. And nobody wants to go there, either. We are a lucky team in that we have several good players and a good coach and training staff, but we also have space to sign a big free agent ...
