Re: Around the League: May 2014
He also had a lot of talent, much like VinnyD in LA. Time will tell if they were winning because of him or in spite of him. He definitely seemed overly sensitive about the fact that Malone was getting credit for the initial success, as he was seen as the Xs and Os guy. And I think Malone was almost ...

Re: RC Buford: Executive Of The Year
McD showed restraint not chasing the 7th seed and a 1 and done in the playoffs. He was disciplined enough not to give up assets for a rental in Gasol or Deng (or god forbid Rudy Gay) to get marginally better.

Re: RC Buford: Executive Of The Year
except for a misguided attempt to remedy never giving it to him before I think that's it. They wanted to give him one before the run is over. He really didn't do anything of note to add to the team this year. Kind of like the Oscars when they don't pick the young guy who deserves it because they fe...

Re: Around the League: May 2014
Was never a fan of Mark Jackson post playing career. I feel like once he got the itch to coach, he'd lobby and preach during his broadcasts to show how smart he was and how good a coach he'd be. One of the sports writers said it best...he's a great motivator, but that doesn't always make a great coa...

Re: Suns News: Week of 4/14-4/20
I don't think Ferry has any illusions about his team. He came out and said that making the playoffs wasn't the goal. Now as well as they played a struggling Pacers team, I still don't think that'll give him a false sense of security about his team. He knows they're mediocre at best and he has some n...

Re: Suns News: Week of 4/14-4/20
I would take Horford, tho his health is a concern. He'd be a great 4 for us. If ATL makes a play for Monroe, he may become available.

Re: First Round: Houston Rockets (4) vs. Trail Blazers (5)
Rockets proved to be soft. They need to get a lot tougher, angrier. They didn't seem to play with any urgency. Blazers had the eye of the tiger.

Re: Suns News: The Offseason
Burke showed signs of life once he was healthy. Shabazz was a bust this year. I knew Hardaway Jr would be a solid pro. I really liked Dieng coming out and think he's still got a ways to go. Olynyk showed some real nice flashes too. Want to see what CJ McCollum does in Portland with a healthy year.

Re: Around the League: the offseason
Quite douchey of Magic. Especially coming from a guy supposedly linked to buying the Clips. I know i mentioned Minny, but if MJax gets canned I'd want to see MikeD in GS. Curry, Klay, Iggy, Barnes, Green, Lee...they'd average 125pts easily. And remember, Rick Welts is prez up there too. He'd do grea...

Re: Around the League: the offseason
He should go to Minny and coach Rubio and Love. He was never a good fit for LA.
He should've taken the job at Marshall.

Re: 2014 NBA Draft
I don't think it's a question of skill. It's been about consistency and him seemingly turning it on when he knows people are watching or dogging it when unhappy. Something just seems off with him.

Re: 2014 NBA Draft
I think you got BPA but i feel pretty good about our guard situation going into next year with Bledsoe, Dragic and Goodwin. That's as solid a young backcourt as you'll find with youth, athleticism, length, scoring, slashing, defense. I'd be more inclined to keep those guys together with Goodwin off ...

Re: 2014 NBA Draft
Kind of iffy on Saric. A lot of drama around him the past 2-3 years with his draft status, the teams he's played for, his father being overly involved, inconsistency with his game...

Re: First Round: Chicago Bulls (4) vs. Washington Wizards (5
Yea he's a solid 3rd, 4th option. He tried bluffing the Lakers and they had Artest lined up. He went to Houston to be the man and saw how hard it can be, then went to no man's land in Washington. He can be a contributer for sure and is basically the x-factor on that team. They're a frontcourt player...

Re: Around the League: Week of 4/21-4/27
The problem with the pacers is mostly personnel. George Hill shouldn't be their starting PG (or anyone's). Lance thinks he's a 1st option and he's a 3rd option, everyone was quick to annoint Paul George as a #1 type superstar but he's a great #2. Hibbert has always suffered from confidence issues an...

I don't think it has anything to do with coaching. I think the players need to be more accountable.

Re: 2014 NBA Draft
With Early, not sure why but watching him reminded of of Frye when he hung around the perimeter. Long, lanky perimeter guy. Again, he's a smaller player, can do more with the ball and clearly isn't a 6-11 stretch big. I don't think he's a pure 3 tho.

Re: 2014 NBA Draft
I don't think Early is a fluid, natural SF but more of a smaller, versatile Channing Frye type who can do a bit more offensively. A Shawne Williams type 3/4 but he's not a perimeter player who can handle and make plays off the dribble like a natural swingman.

Re: Phoenix Suns 2014: Offseason Moves
Yeah, I kind of hesitate at the notion that Plumlee can be developed. I think there are small improvements in his game he can make, and he can work on being able to produce more consistently, but in general, I feel he is what he is. I don't think he took a giant leap from his rookie season to his s...

Re: Suns News: The Offseason
I definitely respect Popovich and his coaching. He's mastered the NBA schedule and knows his roster inside and out, but Hornacek really deserved it. If we had made the playoffs maybe he gets it?
