Re: Around the League: Week of 4/21-4/27

Adelman is announcing his retirement today. I wonder what this says for Kevin Love. I heard they want Fred Hoiberg as their new coach. He'd probably be good, but I wonder whether he'll be good soon enough to keep Love there. (I hope not.) Also, Phil Jackson fired Mike Woodson and his entire staff. ...

Re: First Round: Houston Rockets (4) vs. Trail Blazers (5)

Wow, Portland with the big upset. I'm stunned. I really didn't give them a chance in this series. BTW, Houston is showing itself to be yet another bush league franchise when it comes to injured players, just like Charlotte. When a guy comes up limping, you TAKE HIM OUT. Patrick Beverley sprained his...

They shouldn't let Shaq analyze Dwight Howard on air, just like they shouldn't let Reggie Miller do commentary on Pacers games.

Re: First Round: Miami Heat (2) vs. Charlotte Bobcats (7)

See, this is what bush league franchises do. Their biggest star (Big Al) gets a bad injury, and they LEAVE HIM OUT THERE playing on it, aggravating the injury for no good reason. Charlotte is not winning that playoff series. Plantar fasciitis (or whatever he has) is not something to mess around with...

Re: First Round: San Antonio Spurs (1) vs. Dallas Mavericks

San Antonio's execution is just so good. If they have the game close in the last 2-3 minutes, they will calmly out-execute you into the ground and win by 3-5 points. That's what they do. They're lethal.

Re: First Round: Houston Rockets (4) vs. Trail Blazers (5)

I've never really been a believer in LaMarcus Aldridge. And I'm also not a giant Damian Lillard fan; he's a fine player, but I just don't see him as the #1 guy on a title team. So I just can't really picture Portland going anywhere in the playoffs with their current core. I don't think the Rockets h...

Re: First Round: Chicago Bulls (4) vs. Washington Wizards (5

I predicted before the season started that the Wizards would be good, and they generally have been. But I don't really see them as being built for the playoffs. They don't have the experience and just don't feel like a team that is going to advance to a second round series. The Bulls have shown that...

I am really rooting for SA. I want to see them get redemption for last year. I think they are the best team in the league and I think they can do it.

Pacers are pathetic. They really are. They should be walking all over the league but they can't even handle a team that barely wants to be there. Losing at home to the #8. Come on.

Wowwwwww! Warriors steal Game 1. Blake Griffin fouled out after playing only 19 minutes. Lots of weird / bad / ticky-tack foul calls in this game. Clips probably pissed about this one.

Re: Phoenix Suns 2013-2014: Year In Review

I'd MUCH rather sign Gasol as an FA this offseason than trade assets for him, lose those assets, and then feel more pressure to re-sign him to avoid having wasted those assets.

And I say that despite not being super pumped about Gasol in general. I'd much rather have Love or some other guys.

Re: First Round: L.A. Clippers (3) vs. Golden State Warriors

Iguodala just fouled out. 3 point game with 3 minutes left. Warriors are starting to hack-a-DeAndre. LOL. Jordan has had a really solid game overall. Too bad to see so many top players (Iggy, Blake Griffin, etc.) sitting due to foul trouble.

It would be HUGE if GSW could steal Game 1 in LA.

Clips up big so far. 12-1. I think the Clippers are better than OKC and are the second best team in the West.

Re: First Round: Indiana Pacers (1) vs. Atlanta Hawks (8)

Yawn. Is there any more boring first-round series? (Maybe Heat-Bobcats?) The Hawks didn't even want to make the playoffs. And they'll soon be back out of them. Indiana has had a real malaise over them during the second half of the season, but Atlanta is a far inferior team. Also I think being in the...

Re: First Round: L.A. Clippers (3) vs. Golden State Warriors

I have been watching a lot of Warriors games now that I live in the Bay Area. I just don't see this GSW team winning a playoff series. The team relies way too much on Curry pulling a basket out of his posterior in the closing moments. Bogut's out, which hurts them a lot. I think the Clips have slowl...

Re: First Round: Toronto Raptors (3) vs. Brooklyn Nets (6)

It seems like everybody is picking Brooklyn in this one. I picked them, too, but it was partly out of laziness. I don't really know the Raptors that well, so I just assumed they'd roll over. I heard some stats that they lose most of their close games because they don't have a real go-to scorer. But ...
