Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency 2 (new)
And as for the icky thread that got out of control, the mods and I are talking it over now and will let everyone know if there's any action on it going forward.

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
I "locked" this thread. It has become toxic. I read through the whole thing, and it's almost funny to see it escalate, because it really is much ado about nothing. I think people are just in a bad mood for some reason, or maybe it's just old bad blood rising to the surface. There are lots ...

Re: Suns News: The Offseason
We have said this before, but the worst thing about maxing out Bledsoe isn't even that contract itself. It's that it would make it 100% necessary to also max out Dragic when his contract ends. You can't pay Bledsoe the max and then NOT do the same for Dragic, who by all accounts is a better player r...

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency
Did he (Shavlik) really say hateful things about gays / Jason Collins? If so, he goes from a guy who's essentially dead weight or a waste of a roster spot, to a guy who I would actively oppose having on the team.

Re: Suns News: The Offseason
I like Bledsoe and would rather keep him, but if he wants that much, let's show him the door. Maybe I'd do an S&T but I don't want to take on tons of salary, either. Maybe a team will S&T us a decent PF for him? (Remember, it has to be a team where he WANTS to play to make an S&T work. N...

Re: Around the League: July 2014
The thing about Boozer is, he looks good on paper but every Bulls fan I read online HATES him. It sounds like he's a frustrating player to have on your team. Energetic, can still score some, but horrible on D and can't really be played down the stretch in a big game. So he becomes essentially useles...

Re: Suns News: The Offseason
The Suns FO has cleverly waited this out so that Bledsoe has the minimum leverage. Almost every team, including losers like the Lakers, are now out of cap space. And we now have Bledsoe's position heavily covered in case he bolts. No reason to max him out.

Re: Suns News: The Offseason
The question is which, if any teams, fall off? I don't see too many teams in the West struggling. You know, barring injuries, the Clippers, Thunder, Spurs will be there. I don't see the Blazers, Warriors, Rockets sliding. The Grizzlies are still there and even the Mavs improved. I don't know where ...

Re: Suns News: The Offseason
So we're looking at heading into the season with... Bledsoe/IT2/Ennis Dragic/Green/Goodwin Tucker/Warren Keef/Mook/Tolliver Plumlee/Len I guess we're slightly improved if both Bledsoe & Dragic return playing at the same level as last year and there's improvement internally. Only, all the other ...

Re: NBA Lottery reform proposed at Summer League
I think that midseason tournament sounds kind of weird and lame. It could be neat, but, what's the incentive to do well in it? You'd need to really give the winner something special like a guaranteed playoff spot or something of that nature for them to be willing to put their health on the line.

Re: Around the League: July 2014
I've always liked Blair. Wish we could've gotten him. As much as I like our team and FO/coaching staff, I hate that we're approaching the frontcourt the same way as in the past. It's a little sad that we're throwing tens of millions of dollars this offseason at point guards but we have almost nobod...

Re: Welcome to the new site!
Welcome, klown! And yeah, Xylus, get out of that trash SpursTalk site. It's just a troll board. The only fun thing about it is seeing them rip on each other for their respective teams' mistakes. There's almost zero serious hoops talk going on over there.

Re: Prognosticate on Alex Len!
Sorry, I think I was just running my mouth. I don't think there is any direct evidence that Len gives a poor effort. I retract the comment. Honestly I don't remember writing that part; I may have had a few glasses of cabernet in me, hah.

I might support that if it were shorter. 4-5 years, maybe.JCSunsfan wrote:No team can have the #1 pick more than once in a decade (or 8 years or something like that). If they win it again, they slide to #2.

Re: NBA Lottery reform proposed at Summer League
At first glance I think it's ok. I like the equal odds for teams with the worst odds, but would have kept the odds for teams with the best record a bit lower. I don't like the wheel idea at all, so would rather this for sure. I agree that the wheel sucks. That idea, I just never saw the appeal in i...

Re: NBA Lottery reform proposed at Summer League
I like the flattening of the odds a lot, and I also like putting more (but not all) of the picks into the lottery rather than just picks 1-3.

Warren's looking nasty out there. A really potent scorer.
