About 4-6 weeks ago I thought I might have been too critical of the officials. It seemed like every other night they were just brutal, but maybe it was my purple and orange tinted glasses.
Here we are today where not only people who follow the league, but some of the biggest media personalities, are calling out the NBA. It's just bad right now and the NBAPA should be holding the league accountable.

Proud of you guys. That was a nice sequence.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 9:47 pmWow. Nice product the NBA has going here.
How many votes did these refs get for the All-Star game?
I get it now though. Book just wanted to show we could beat the Lakers without him. Tried to even it up a bit since AD was out.
Game, bitches!

I don't get the Nader hate. I said it a few weeks back and nothing's changed. He's a bench player and his peak is probably the 7th man on a good team. He's basically been the 8th-9th man on the Suns when everyone is healthy. If anything, he's outplayed that role.Superbone wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 11:42 pmMan, you guys look so bad in hindsight.specialsauce wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 8:56 pmOkay, I can’t be the only one wondering why the fuck Nader is a regular in the rotation when we’re not decimated with injuries???!!! Dude fucking sucks.

No Kaminsky tonight? Was he injured? Coaches decision? Covid?

They were just weird in this game. Seemed to be calling it the same both ways, but just not consistent throughout. Two quick techs on the Lakers and then two quick techs on Book. That 2nd tech has to really be earned to call in that situation...doesn’t seem like it was. At times they were calling a lot of fouls...then down the stretch they just let people play. There was 3 straight plays at the end I thought they could have called a foul. 2 on us and 1 on LA, but no calls each time.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 11:47 pmAbout 4-6 weeks ago I thought I might have been too critical of the officials. Didn’t Book slam the ball after the first T? They don’t like it when you do that.

Ya he’s fine...kind of a jack of all trades. He can shoot a little, drive a little, and defend a little. He gets caught occasionally trying to do too much, but he’s not a zero on offense. You have to respect his shot and if you run him off the line, he can get into the paint. He’s not a great finisher, but he’s ok. Had 3 blocks and a steal tonight. He’s just like a C+ at everything. Would be nice if he had one skill to count on.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 11:50 pmI don't get the Nader hate. I said it a few weeks back and nothing's changed. Best angle of the techs. First ref calls a tech when he’s not even near Book. Book isn’t talking to him at all. 2nd tech is by another ref walking away. It almost seems like Book was talking to Marc Davis and the other 2 refs jumped in with the techs.

I was a little pissed that Jones looked consistently better in his limited minutes tonight than his whole run with the Suns.

I think CP3 suggested to someone to get him included in the trade with OKC. He has a 7' plus wingspan and always seems active on both ends of the court. I like him, and he is potentially our best option at the 2 going forward.Split T wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 11:55 pmYa he’s fine...kind of a jack of all trades. I'm with you. He consistently plays hard. He drives to the hoop. He blocks some shots. I have no complaints.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 11:50 pmI don't get the Nader hate. Nice tag team job by the refs to take the Suns best player out of the equation on national TV. Well done. Everybody knows the fans watch NBA basketball to watch the refs in action.

Re: Game Day: Suns (22-11) @ Lakers (24-11), Tues 3/2/21
I can't see Ayton getting the max straight from the Suns. Matching an offer sheet maybe, because in the end he is still a key piece and losing him for nothing would be terrible. But he clearly is not a max player and Bridges is indeed making his way to a 20M+ contract. I'll say that to be honest, I don't think Ayton will be adamant over the max, regardless of those 'next contract' comments; he seems too laid back to let that break what seems an ideal situation for him, as long as he ends up with a relevant figure.
Now, Paul has a player option for next year at 44M so maybe he could decline it to arrange something like a 4 year contract starting at a around $25M, which would 'free' ~$20M per season for the team while Paul gets more than $110M in his las contract.
