What I’d give to hear the suns lockeroom post game. This is a game coach Popovich know how’s to win: excellent perimeter D + transition D + don’t turn the fucking ball over on offense. Doubling and triple teaming Book should be a solvable equation. No excuse to losing by this much.

Wonder what his speech was when we murdered his team the other night.

Shit game, don't mind the loss but it's frustrating losing the same way to the Mavs. We're not doubling or trapping Luka to get him out of his comfort zone, we're still seeing guys like Cam and DA switched onto Luka, weren't getting out to shooters. Blame fatigue or being shorthanded or the refs not calling fouls but that doesn't change the fact that the Mavs seem to have us figured out on both ends.
I just don’t understand how we’re switching screens and STILL leaving men open from 3. It makes no sense. Stop helping on Luka. Just let him get his. He can’t beat us on his own.

Explains why they are so bad then. Thanks Bone!

Yep, we need a new game plan against this Mavs team. Hopefully, they have lots of video to review and see what needs to change. I agree that we've got to start doubling Doncic and let the other guys beat us. Just don't leave them wide open.
I don't know if I agree that we need to double Luka. I think that may be what they want teams to do: double Luka, leave somebody open for easy 3s. The Mavs surround Luka with shooters for exactly this purpose. Luka did have 33 points against us last night, but we lost because the rest of the team shot 48% on 3s. Can't allow that to happen.

I kind of prefer single-coverage on Luka and staying really tight on all the shooters. I think how our defense gets pulled out of sorts is when guys are halfheartedly trying to help swipe their hands at Luka as he runs by, then losing track of their own man. But I admit that I may just be wrong about this.

My point is Monty knows better. WTF happened that they lose this bad against the Mavs? Monty’s schemes seem to play into Kidd’s plans. There was one defensive possession where they effectively cut off the swing pass to Mavs shooters where it seemed like the Suns knew better. The Mavs are the only team that seem to know how to break down the Suns at both ends.

I think we lost because Luka dropped 33 AND the others went off. Either commit to taking Luka out of it or commit to making him do it alone.

I think we lost because we were on the second night of a b2b missing 4 of our top 8 players, but those thing might be called “excuses.”

No we lost because they had a higher score at the end of regulation time.

We got our ass beat by them when we had 8 of our top 8 players too. 😭

Simple solution. Configure our position so that we don't play Dallas in the playoffs.

It's so weird. We went from having their number to them having ours.

Yeah, not much of a chance to win after that grueling game against San Antonio and long trip from San Antonio to Dallas.

We're a worse team than Dallas missing those 4 guys on a rest disadvantage.

I don't think it is a matter of personnel. Dallas beat the Suns in the playoffs without THJ. They got a 20-point lead on them on opening night. The Suns have been able to climb to the top of of the conference with all of those guys out. I think the Suns and fans are fooling themselves if they try to explain away these performances against Dallas with COVID and injured players.

I was on a trip to Vegas and missed this one. Glad I did. Kidd outcoaches Monty again--not a surprise.
