For the Win's Mike D. Sykes, II wrote: "There are some bad team owners in the NBA. James Dolan, Ted Leonsis, Tilman Fertitta. I could go on and on and on. The jury was out on the Suns’ new owner, Mat Ishbia. But I think the case just closed with the Suns firing Frank Vogel after one single season as the team’s head coach. News of Vogel getting fired broke on Thursday through a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. I couldn’t call it shocking, really. Somebody’s head had to roll after the Suns’ disappointing season and, well, it certainly wasn’t going to be the team owner’s. But in reality, that’s who’s at fault here!"

"This Suns team stinks because Mat Ishbia couldn’t just relive his glory days at Michigan State by playing in some random rec league around his way like any other washed-up college athlete would. Nope. He’s too rich for that. Instead, he chose to buy an NBA team and run it into the ground. See why I keep telling y’all billionaires are dangerous? No one man should have all that power. …"

"… This speedrun to becoming the most incompetent owner in the league has been quite the ride. For Suns fan’s sake, I hope he turns it around soon. I can’t imagine going from being in the NBA Finals a few years ago to this."

What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

For the record, I disagree with the above.

I would blame James Jones before Ishbia. James Jones was supposed to be able to figure out if Vogel and the team were going to fit together. Unless it comes out that Ishbia picked Vogel ahead of Jones better judgement, I think it was Jones' idea.

I do agree with his last sentence though. Man, it has been tough.

Eh, other way around for me. Not that Jones has no blame. It all starts with the Durant fleecing and gutting our Finals team.

I mean, you're not wrong there. The Suns really got fleeced for sure.

Officially official. I for one, like the hire much more than the Vogel hiring.

I'm with Bud til I ain't. I don't know that he'll be much more effective than Vogel at getting thru. They might roll their eyes at him too or undermine him just the same. I don't think Vogel's a scapegoat, he sucked. The roster isn't ideal but it's better than it showed this season.

A 3rd coach in 3 years and by most accounts all good coaches, if they don't buy in they gotta go. Full stop.

5 years? Good. Players need to go next if we have another embarrassing season. I hope he’s ready for a rebuild.

A rebuild when we’re way the F over the cap and control none of our own picks for seven years? Sure thing. We’ll do it just like… uh… somebody must have done it before, right?

I think the roster is the biggest issue, but Budenholzer is a better fit with the personnel that the Suns have. I think he can get a better offensive product out of this group, but I'm not sure that elevates enough to have a different out in the postseason. Maybe it upgrades them to being able to win a playoff series.

Obviously that includes trading Booker away to facilitate that.

Take a look at the Booker trades proposed by fans/media of other teams, and tell me which you think could be the foundation for a rebuild.
