Agreed.
He's averaging 18/5/4 in this third year. By comparison, Dragic was 20/6/3 last year.

So how much does Knight need to "blow up"?

I would have loved Hamilton. Has totally SF game in a 7' body.
R_W: I'm saying the Suns got him.

I think the trade ends up being:

Miami: Goran & Zoran Dragic
Phoenix: Justin Hamilton, Danny Granger, and John Salmons
New Orleans: Norris Cole and Shawne Williams
Trendon Watford. Please and thank you.

High standards.
I know...
and I am sorry...
but I need to find a way to stay positive in times like this/these.

I guess we all know that (on paper) we just lost some of our most valuable assets.

No apology necessary. :) I'm just being Captain Gloom.

Personally, enough to make me forget that the used an asset when it was not convenient given all the factors, including impending new contract. Knight is not a consolidated star in the league, just a youngster who has had his first real good season so far, but who doesn't come free of question marks. Will also depend a lot on how the team performs as a whole with him, and specifically how he plays alongside Bledsoe.

Why do you insist on continuing to call him that?
Because it was absurd and premature nickname that I didn't come up with.
I haven't seen it used much on this board.
Once is more than enough.
In other words, you like to have the ridiculous strawman so that your own rhetoric seems reasonable by comparison. It doesn't work, FYI.

The funny thing is, if Knight continues to improve and and meets your standards he'll deserve Dragic-type money and people will complain about having to pay him.

Hey, if your bummed about loosing the lakers pick and are almost going mad like me, just imagine it happend this way:

It's the 2015 NBA draft. Adam silver approaches the podium:

Silver: with the 6th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, the Phoenix Suns select Brandon Knigth from the university of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Fans comment: hey, why didn't we get this or that PF, hey i guess we drafted the best player available...

I'm going mad already I guess...

I updated our cap situation: http://www.phx-suns.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=637

We have $42Mil committed and need to make decisions on Brandon Knight and Brandan Wright. If Knight signs a Lowry type deal at 4/48 we still only have 7 or 8Mil to spend depending on what happens to the cap.
Go Suns!

Knight's gotten better each year and was playing well under Kidd. He's a do everything type, not dissimilar to Bledsoe. But we're probably back to square one with him be restricted, and an undersized combo guard who wants to play PG.

That's a problem I'd be glad to have.

I wouldn't be surprised to see us bring in Earl Barron.

Are there any more Hassan Whitesides sitting out there?

It's silly to be ok with just throwing a lotto pick away. I don't think Brandon Knight is worth Miles Plumless, Tyler Ennis, and a lotto pick. That's highway robbery.
So much I don't understand.

I did not understand/like the trade for IT in the first place, but at least we resigned him to a good contract, given his production. So we trade him away for about what we spent to get him in the first place. Then, noticing Dragic was gone, the FO felt compelled to do the above deal so we would still have at least one PG playing out of position and in need of resigning.

Knight's #s aren't much better than Thomas's, though he is taller.

I'm sure someone will 'splain this all to me. :?

IT3 wanted out as well, I'm pretty sure. Can't imagine him being happy with his past role and the known fact that the Suns were willing to dump him to appease Dragic.

Knight's numbers are not very different, but his defense and ability to play SG are.

We'll see how Knight gets integrated in his new team.
