I had read an article that basically stated that this is the year for small market teams with cap space to start to go over the tax limit to sign fringe young players. The argument was that if you lock up a player at a two year deal, and he's a bust, no big deal, but if he turns into a stud then you can re-sign him to a long term deal when the tax market goes up. Low risk high reward kinda attitude. I'd take a flyer on KJ McDanilels and maybe kick the tires on Derrick Williams. KJ would give us an almost instant defender and I think that if Williams was played in a system that was the same as we played a young Amare, he might net the same results. Just some thoughts for when we don't get the mega star again this year.

Reportedly, Dragic has agreed to a five-year $90 million deal with Miami.

$18M/yr for Dragic? Why not.

5/$120M for Lillard. Would rather have Knight on 5/$70M.

But, you know, let's complain about $14 mil for Bledsoe.

I don't usually complain about the money for Bledsoe though I may have been in favor of moving him to fill other positions on the team with better players. I complain about his constant turnovers and the fact that his go to play is to charge through the lane, attempt a crazy layup, fall to the ground and then get up slowly while his man scores on the other end.

I'm not complaining about $14 million for Bledsoe as much as I'm complaining that he's not really a point guard and never will be one.

I share the concerns. But the first step is accumulating assets. The deal is a bargain, always was. The length of the contract gives us the flexibility to hold him until the right opportunity presents itself, which may not be this year.

Good God. His salary almost tripled in a span of what? 4 years?

And yes, now the Bledsoe/Morrii deals are looking like a heist.

If the Heat lose Wade I think Dragic is going to have a monster season running the PnR with Bosh. He might have a great year even with Wade. Depending if they let him run the offense.

It will be interesting to see how he is doing near the end of that 5 year contract though. Especially if he keeps playing international ball every off season.
