As long as that pick doesn't transfer next year. Miami would have to be top 7 to not send it to us in 2018. That would also mean they'd have 2 top half of the lottery players on their team with Whiteside, Winslow, maybe Dragic, and any FA they sign. I think there is a good shot Miami rebuilds pretty quick and is at least decent. Not likely we are getting a #1 pick from them. Anyone think they might land Blake Griffin next year? Dragic-Griffin-Whiteside plus their top 5 pick would look pretty good. Winslow, Richardson, Johnson, and Johnson are all solid role players as well.

Here's to Miami striking out in free agency and sending dragic away in a trade so those draft picks are very valuable.
I tend to agree with you, but don't dowse my dream and good vibes. Besides, we all thought that the Lakers pick was going to suck and not be valuable this year, but...might be fantastic now.
Can we dream that we draft a Gobert or Jimmy Buckets with our late first round Miami pick instead?
Yes we can

Shoots 85.7% from the line, he's basically a hall of famer already.

Markkanen is a really nice prospect. I was thoroughly impressed by him today. Maybe even more so than Ball who had a pretty good game. Trier being back for Arizona is going to be huge for them. They just beat UCLA by 11 at Pauley Pavilion.
Go Suns!

Was just about to post this. I know a lot of people like Bender, and I think he could be something, but I'd trade him for Markkanen. Markkanen at the very least is Channing Frye/Ryan Anderson but with better ability to put the ball on the floor and make a move.

But probably wont defend a lick. Chriss? sure I'd trade him, Bender? Nope.

I think Markkanen is a better prospect than Chriss as well, but I'd love to hold onto his athleticism. Neither Bender or Markkanen has that.
Not sure about Markkanen defensively, but I haven't seen anything that would indicate he'd be a bad defender.

Pretty sure you can't trade pros to college and vice versa. 8-)

I think we need to see what we have in Chriss and Bender. I'm not opposed to taking on another prospect at the 4/5, since we all still have our doubts about Len. I'm intrigued by what little I've seen about our two rookies though.

I hope Ulis develops more. He's too small to be able to get his shot in the lane, from the bit of court time I've seen.

It's early, but so far I am not impressed. I'm leaning more towards Ball.
A month later I agree. Ball is my clear cut #1 right now. The Kidd comparisons are legit except he can shoot better then Jason coming out. I'm loving this draft class though. It's one of the deeper ones in a long time if the guys declare that are suppose to.

BTW, what are peoples thoughts on UA's Markkaen? Had a really nice showing vs T.J. Leaf yesterday.
“Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”

Very smart player. Ready to contribute in the NBA. Some others may have a higher ceiling, but he already has the court smart of somebody who's been in the NBA a couple of years.

Ball's a very nice player and he looks like a winner. I wouldn't be upset at all if we drafted him.

I just think Fultz is in a tier by himself.

Dennis Smith is in the same tier as Fultz IMO.
