I'd love to see Philly make the playoffs. They are actually a solid team when Embiid plays. If simmons can add anything, they just need some shooters in the backcourt and they could be pretty good. Now's the time for Brandon Knight to get hot from 3 and get some people interested.
If you could have Towns or Embiid to start a team, who do you take?
I probably take Towns, but just because Embiid has some health history. If I knew he'd stay healthy, I'd take Embiid, no question.

Weird, huh? They are actually a team. Embiid is obviously the real deal, and they are very well coached.
Brown looks like he will live to see the light at the end of the tunnel. RIP Hinkie.
If I were them I'd look to sell high on Okafor if I could, though.
Hinkie deserves another shot somewhere. Maybe Brooklyn? This is all his doing. He built the entire team. If they land one of the top 3 PG prospects they have as bright a future as anyone in the East. The Cavs probably only have another 2 or 3 years in them.
The Wizards wing has seemingly transformed himself from dud to stud role player, scoring 1.19 points per possession, per Synergy Sports, which leads all NBA players with a minimum of 400 registered possessions.
Simmons really impressed me in Summer League. He was making passes that very few can make. Nash is the only guy in the last 10 years I can think of who was in the same creative ballpark.

Porter tied for the league lead in 3pt % with Joe Ingles. Our own Jared Dudley is 3rd. Weird that he's completely out of the rotation. Are we just waiting on a tucker trade? Are we gonna trade Dudley? He'd actually probably net us a decent return. Surely we aren't paying him 10 million a year just for his locker room presence.

We have to pay somebody. Might as well have a great influence on the bench teaching the youngsters and who can step in when needed.

True, but I don't think Dudley is going to be content in that role. How long until not playing at all when he knows he can contribute starts getting to him? He'd be a huge asset for a lot of teams and I imagine we've gotten several offers.

Supposedly, that's one of the reasons we like him on the bench because he said he'd defer for the benefit of the team. True though that it's got to be frustrating especially when you're the number 3 guy in the league for 3 point percentage!

Wow. That was nuts. Wiggins with the huge game winner.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Alongside the big three they have some of the best role players in the game. Korver, Frye and Thompson are terrific at what they do. They also have found a defensive specialist in Liggins, and surprisingly Richard Jefferson is still contributing.
Shump and JR are not bad either now that they are under control, but the problem is that they make $23M combined.
Anyway, that's a 10 deep roster, including two allstars and the monster of this generation.
He is just insecure watching Durant, Curry & co.
Funny thing is, the Cavs are deeper than the Warriors, who go 8 deep and then have a bunch of fringe/unproven guys.
Why can't the Cavs just stagger LBJ/Kyrie minutes so that one is on the floor at all times? I get what LeBron is asking for, but I don't think a backup playmaker is the difference between them and the Ws right now.
Ring_Wanted wrote:Kevin Love is not for us (and if I were the Cavs I wouldn't make him available). There was a time for the Suns but it's not now. At this point we need to look for the future, not the present. This 8th seed talk is making me very uncomfortable, although the better play by the team has been nice to watch.
I'd facilitate, of course.
Btw, Tucker absolutely has to yield a late 1stR.
I can't stress how much I agree with every word of this.

I also think that it's exactly because Dudley can take a backseat role without jeopardizing chemistry that he's worth 10 mil per year. In this cap environment, 10 mil a year really isn't that much money, and like Bone said, we have to pay someone. Anyone that gets that level of salary would have some sort of ego. I think Dudley is the perfect fit for us.

I agree with the previous posts that LeBron is a diva and this is all of his own doing. It's too bad that this won't actually sink the Cavs in the post season because by that time LeBron can actually play 38 mpg and do the all-world things that he does.
In terms of wanting a playmaker off the bench, I think it's a luxury that everyone wishes they had, but sure, even if I were a multi-millionaire, I still wouldn't turn down some more free money. For their team now, having another back court guy who can make things happen can help protect for the nights when Irving is stone cold or for when one of them gets into foul trouble.
So far a good day for our ping pong balls. Miami, Sacramento, Dallas, and Philly all won. Brooklyn is pretty locked in to the #1 ping pong spot, so them losing isn't a big deal. Lakers playing blazers right now.
