I don't have a problem with Cousins personality. My problem is the efficiency of his game. He has one of the better pass first pg's in the game right now feeding him and he is shooting under 45% as a center.
That's on Karl, who wants to play fast and spread the floor. This year, the Kings are first in the league in pace. 13-14 and through November last year, under Malone, the Kings were playing slower and through Cousins in the post and he was over 50%.
I need to correct myself. He is shooting 42% and he has shot 46% for his career. His career is not on Karl. The reason he is shooting worse this year is because he has decided to launch threes now and is shooting .314 on those. His previous high in threes attempted was 22, he has attempted 70 so far this year.

He has never been an efficient player. True stars are efficient players. All the rest are just stat stuffers, and anyone in the NBA can do that if they hog the ball enough.

Man it can backfire but you have to get him if given the chance. The hope with Cousins is that somebody finally can get through his skull and make him the consistently dominant player he owes us to be. This is what was happening last season at the beginning, until he got sick with meningitis. He was a force and he was on the same page with Mike Malone (who btw is doing a hell of a job with the Nugs).

I wish we had Mike Malone as our coach here. I think he's one of the best.

Not trying to be a jerk, but what is Malone's track record before coaching the Kings? Was he an assistant somewhere? I have read that he's the only one who could get through to Cousins, so that's gotta count for something. But other than that, what is his style? How would you describe Mike Malone in an elevator pitch?

Mike Malone is the son of longtime Pistons assistant coach Brendan Malone. Dad was top assistant to Chuck Daly during the BadBoy championship teams. Brendan Malone also was head coach for the Raptors, and, briefly, the Cavs.

Mike Malone coached at several colleges before coming to the NBA. He first worked for the Knicks, then later the Cavs, New Orleans and Golden State. At one time, he was the highest paid assistant in the NBA. He coached the Kings to a winning record before Boogie went down with an injury, then the team went into a tailspin and Malone got the axe. The Kings bizarre management style is well-documented. Malone was one of the few (only) coaches to get Cousins to play at both ends of the court.

What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Derrick Rose has played 53 minutes. That's a recipe for disaster.

Wow. You cannot play Rose that long, no matter how many overtimes you have.

I guess bad free throw shooting is contagious. Every one of the Pistons' starters has missed at least 3 free throws. Otherwise I guess this game wouldn't have gone this long. Epic though.
