That Christian Wood signing is a steal if he took a small contract. The Lakers will be only as good as their top 2 guys allow them to be, though. Hard for Lebron to carry a contending team deep into the playoffs at his age.

It was a steal when he went to the Rockets and the Mavs too. He's now on his 8th team in 8 years. Won't hold my breath on it working out there.

He puts up numbers, but no one wants to keep him around. Not really sure what to think about him. Defense is a problem, but maybe LA can mask that. He’s worth a gamble at the minimum. He’s there Bol Bol(only more proven).

He won't be a factor when the games get real in April-June and that's all that really matters.

Exactly…. If he’s anything worth it, teams would look to retain his services.

Lakers are loaded. Wood's rep as "not a winning player" has gotten so bad that he's become pretty underrated, IMO. I get that he's not a world-beater on D, but he's pretty skilled.
His behavior is a perfect match for the Lakers.

I'm still annoyed that the Lakers have Vando.

When 1/3 the league is like been there, done that, call me skeptical.

That's crazy. I've never heard of someone having fewer career All-Star selections on purpose.

In recent years Dwight weird behaviour has overshadowed his "playing career"
I know there are some who say he should have been in the Top 75

When he says/do stuff it usually comes with an eye roll but I decided to give this some thought

Jokic himself praised DA so someone like Dwight in his prime (strength, size, athleticism)
Would he been Joker's nemesis ??

I do think prime Dwight would be a really tough matchup for Jokic. Dwight spent so much time in the league after he dropped off that we forget sometimes how good he was.

Being a Hornets fan sounds miserable.

Hornets center sparks concern with bizarre Instagram Live video
Jones went live on his Instagram page on Thursday and broadcast himself speaking erratically and unintelligibly. He was also dancing along to music playing in the background and bursting out into sudden fits of laughter. At one point, Jones appeared to say that he didn’t think the Hornets would be trading him any time soon.

DA played him well in 2021 too. Not so great in 2023. Jokic just entered his prime so Howard played him on his way up. Easy for him to say now.

Great players don't stay stuck in a place where they can be defended using the same tactics year after year.

Remember when Golden State used smaller but strong players to disrupt Dirk Nowitzki in pulling off a big playoff upset? The whole league took note and tried the same thing, and it was somewhat successful for a while, with guys like Shawn Marion giving him real difficulties. But Dirk adjusted his game, improved his ability to seal and play with his back to the basket, and ended up taking advantage of those matchups.

Jokic has done the same thing. You can't bulldoze or intimidate him with raw strength and athleticism anymore; he's too good making decisions and too clever in his post moves, and he's comfortable pulling big guys out to and beyond the three-point line. He still doesn't look like a traditional basketball athlete, but he's in better shape, anticipates better and moves better on defense, and he remains strong enough that he's a defensive post presence and damn good rebounder even if he's not a rim protector.

He's a much better, more complete player now than he was even just a couple of years ago.

Prime Dwight could have slowed down Jokic. 2020 Dwight, eh, not so much.
