I’m just not super high on ball and think it could go sour quickly with lavar. If we’re moving lesser assets like Jackson and the Milwaukee 1st I’d be willing to give ball a try. And I’m actually in favor of moving our 2019 pick, just not for Lonzo

I would love Lavar at this point to come in and light a fire under Sarver. It would be great to publicly blast him. I think it’s what Sarver has earned.

Is there any doubt phx-suns.net could have this organization in a different place if we were the ones making the decision for the past few years?
I do think that our collective wisdom would have done better than the idiots running the Suns now. But I do wonder sometimes if we fans grossly underestimate the difficulty of dealing with agents and player egos and all that. We come up with these transactions and trade ideas and we assume we can just treat the players as assets or pieces to be used. But then we forget that we have to include some ballast player to please his agent or to make good on a FA signing last year from one of that agent's other players, or we forget that another agent won't deal with us so we can't swing that deal with Washington, or any number of other complications. I suspect a lot of stuff under the table makes being in an NBA front office really complex and difficult.
Dude, the Suns aren’t the only team to deal with that. Doesn’t seem to be an issue anywhere else.

I absolutely hate Lavar but that’s not a bad strategy

I would make the pick top 5 protected

The last thing we need is an outside distraction and dysfunction. We may be bad, but we're not dysfunctional. That might send Booker over the edge seeing Lavar in the headlines every day/week yapping about Sarver or his son's contract/negotiations or angling to play in a larger market like Chicago or NY.

I see your point. This franchise needs some coverage and fire though. It needs to become relevant again and fill the seats. If Booker is afraid of the media coverage that Ball would bring, being a sleep little loser franchise would be the only way to stay the course with him. I know he wants to win though.

You're selling us short. We're quite dysfunctional.

Why is he wrong? Since when have we been a model of functionality? The Morris Twins, Bledsoe and many others have done a fine job of making us look like a joke of a franchise. Our owner has yet to hire an experienced head coach since...

What protection on the 2019 first would you require, if you were making the decision? Top 3? Top 5? Top 10?
I would do Top 1 protected. Since Ball is a #2 pick I think that is fair.

I’m at the Nets-Spurs G-League game right now and Big Sauce is playing. Man I wish we still had him.

That's not really how it works though.

That's like saying you'd protect a pick through #4 for Jackson since he was selected 4th.

You have to take a step back and decide where the player is seen with the same potential as he was when he was drafted, and with Jackson and Ball the answer is "no."

I would prefer protecting it #1-6, mainly because he hasn't shown that he can shoot well enough to keep defenses honest and he's a terrible free throw shooter, which will limit how you use him at crunch time (he's a poor man's Rajon Rondo right now).

It was just stupid not trying to re-sign him at a reasonable price and carrying him as an extra big man.

Another bad move on a long list.

Sorry, the “yeah” was in agreement with Shabazz. The latter statement was in regards to Shels post.

I'm not upset about not getting KD. I'm upset that the Suns had a 4 year plan of collecting assets to make a trade for a star when one became available and several stars have already come and gone and several more are on the market now and we're BAU.

That is cutting off your nose to spite your face. That kind of drama is not going to have any on-court benefit.
