All caps = Louder with Crowder?
Oh, so you've heard his seafood podcast? Louder with Crowder eating Chowder.

Who would you guys replace? Barkley would be awesome, but Marion replacing Crowder would just seem like a perfect fit to me. He’d help on the boards, he gives us athleticism, a roll man, and gives our defense a boost. Imagine Bridges and Marion on the wing together. He’d provide some shot blocking, and while his shot isn’t as good as Crowder, he was serviceable. It was ugly, but it went in enough.

I'd be tempted to go with Amare at the PF spot. His offensive efficiency would still be insane with Paul and Booker in the backcourt.

Yeah I have to say that I was tempted to reach for prime Amare or maybe even Marion. But I may just be letting the memory of Barkley's dominance fade in my old age. I remember Barkley being a great post scorer, but also kind of clogging up the offense as he tried to back guys down off the dribble. I also remember him taking a couple of 3s a game despite having a dreadful percentage. And while he was a great rebounder, I don't remember him being a lockdown defender. I would worry that he wouldn't click very well with our starting backcourt. And he'd probably slug Ayton.

Ya, Barkley’s fit would bother me a bit. I think he might butt heads with CP3 as well. But he’d give us a dominant scorer/rebounder.

Amare’s offense would be awesome with CP3 and Book...I’d worry Ayton would get in the way though and I’m not sure what his role would be. You could have him take Ayton’s spot instead, but then we’d have defensive issues.

That’s why I’d ultimately settle on Marion. Gives you some of that efficient offense(rolls, put backs, cuts, transition) and boosts the defense.

A knock down shooter at the 4 or 5 would be nice too. 04-05 JJ in place of Crowder? 09-10 Channing Frye? ‘99 Cliff?

Nah, Ayton fulfills his destiny to be a role playing center. The modern Kurt Thomas.

The PF spot is definitely the one 99% of us would look to upgrade, as well as a back up C.

I would go with either a Marion or Amare over Barkely (And I love Barkley as a Sun).

I'd love a fit Danny Manning as our 6th man as well :-)

For me Amare gets the nod over Barkley because he's more of a team player. He's not going to go out partying the night before a big game.

Barkley would be perfect for the "modern" NBA. His 3pt percentage isn't so great but he's mobile and able to beat the shit out of any PF not named Williamson. And he's so much more mobile than Williamson with a lower center of gravity.

That being said -- Amare with CP3 on the PnR? Wow. And you have Ayton to cover up for his defensive shortcomings.

Marion and Bridges are interchangeable, I think. Except that Bridges is a better 3pt shooter but not the rebounder that Marion was. Not a huge deal, though, since Ayton is a monster rebounder.

Amare was our center, not our PF.

A 6-10 Tom Chambers hitting mid-range jumpers and the occasional trey would really open the offense.

(Marion, Barkley or Amare all would be fun, too, but let's consider all options if we're playing this game ...)

And you'd have to think that would rub off on Ayton at least a little.
