"A team cannot reacquire a player they traded away during that season (a season being July 1 - June 30). If he is waived by his new team, then he cannot re-sign with his original team until the one-year anniversary of the trade, or until the July 1 following the end of his contract, whichever comes first. However, if a team trades a player's draft rights, they can reacquire the player during the same season."
I think that restriction goes away because he’s now been on 3 teams since we traded him. We couldn’t pick him up after the spurs waived him, but once he signed with the Bucks he was free game for us.The Bobster wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 9:15 am"A team cannot reacquire a player they traded away during that season (a season being July 1 - June 30). Payne was traded on July 17.
I agree that Payne would be a nice addition to have at the end of the rotation.
Really? I thought he looked pretty good. 11 points, 4 reb, 3 ast in 23 minutes. You still get a bit of tunnel vision with Cam Payne, but he is talented and brings a great energy off the bench. I'd be more than happy to have him back.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 9:47 amCam Payne is not a good NBA player and it should've been obvious when watching him play big minutes against the Suns in the past week.
I've said this before, but nobody loves mediocre former Suns more than Suns fans. It's hilarious.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 9:47 amCam Payne is not a good NBA player and it should've been obvious when watching him play big minutes against the Suns in the past week.

He just got traded for Patrick Beverly. That tells you what Milwaukee thought of him.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 10:27 amReally? I think it says that Milwaukee is desperate for backcourt defense, and they think Beverley is an answer for that. Desperation makes people do crazy things sometimes, I guess.specialsauce wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 3:11 pmHe just got traded for Patrick Beverly.
