Sad news for anyone following his story:

Season begins mid October. Season ends beginning of April, and all-star break is usually more like the 2/3rds mark, not half. This just kind of splits it into thirds.

If he’s available, Lauri is the Jazz player we should be going after.

Don’t think he’s available, I just listened to the jazz front office press conference and they seem pretty excited about him going forward. Of course they could just be saying that, but he’s just 24 and tearing it up in the euro cup.

I like Lauri, but last I checked he was pretty awful defender. Still true? I think one thing Jones has done well is to acquire players who play both sides of the floor, like CP3, Crowder, Mikal, Cam Johnson, etc. I like not having to "hide" guys on defense or just live with a huge hole on that end.

He actually held his own last season having to defend smaller players at the 3.

None of this matters. He's not available. Utah made this clear when the trade happened.

Utah double values white boys that can hoop.

So Booker is the best US player now?

Is this a serious question?

It was a comment on the fact that he was the only American player in the top 5 of MVP voting

Schroder signed with the Lakers for peanuts. I think we missed another opportunity. He's better than Cam Payne and even if he's a headcase, he'd be the only one and you trust the veteran-led infrastructure that's already in place to manage it.

Something tells me we weren’t interested or he would’ve signed, but he’s got a chance to start in LA if they dump Westbrook, so maybe he went for that.

Another journo said they'd been talking for months and given the familiarity, he makes sense there. Even if Westbrook starts, Schroder will play as much as LBJ wants him to. We're committed to Payne and Shamet in the near term, so no use bringing in competition to disrupt any chemistry.

How about bringing in competition to disrupt the atrocious backup guard play and shot creation issues?

I think we're committed to our guys unless it's a clear upgrade/trade. Schroder's probably not moving the needle enough for us and we might be just as well off giving Payne and Shamet another crack at it.

I'm not interested in any headcases.
