I think Bridges is gonna be our defensive glue Shane Battier heart and soul type. Not sure we've ever had a guy like that.
*cough* Shawn Marion *cough*
I dont think of Marion as any soft of high end defender, good rebounder/help side shot blocker, but he wasnt great overall IMO.

I'm fine with Lonzo as long as he and Lavar want to be in Phoenix.
That does make a big difference.

We obviously have to trade Okobo so Lonzo could keep his number 2 right? Feel like this is a thing that will happen.

Would anyone here trade Mikal for Ball?
I wouldn't want to do that.
Same. I am a massive Bridges fan, dont wanna move him.
IMO Bridges is as untouchable as Booker and Ayton. I’m not trading him unless I’m getting a bonafide star in return.
I wouldn't move Bridges in a trade for Ball, but I'm not sure what he has done to earn untouchable status. He has been pretty mediocre this season.

He makes all the right plays, he’s already elite on defense, he is a smart player with a shot that will certainly fall with time. He’s at least a fantastic role player, and that floor is more than I can say for any other Suns player.

Does this mean NO was asking for Jackson plus a top 5 protected pick next year? Or just our top 5 protected pick next year?

Sounds to me like Jackson AND a first.

hmmm, ya Jackson and our own 1st is too much...but NO probably knows that. They probably want Jackson and the Mil 1st and are just negotiating.

JJ and the Bucks pick is more than enough for Ball who doesn't even want to be in NO.
I think it will happen eventually but I will miss JJ for sure. Now trade TJ for a real PF and sign Oubre.

Ball
Booker
Bridges
Mirotic??
Ayton

Bench
Oubre
Holmes
Melton

I'm reading that the Doug and Wolf Show as well as the Bickley and Marotta show have scheduled interviews with Lavar Ball for tomorrow.

What about TJ for somebody like Dario Saric? Not enough?

Sounds to me like just the top 5 protected pick! If so, the Suns are stupid not to do that deal! I would much rather give up the pick (especially top 5 protected!!) than Jackson!

I don't know how you're getting that. They said they wanted a bigger haul than Jackson and a 2nd. That means Jackson and a 1st. I'd rather it was TJ and a first but they appear to want Jackson.

You may be right. But it's possible they consider a good first rounder (unprotected 2020) to be a bigger haul than Jackson and a 2nd.

The Suns priority isnt to help New Orleans or Lebron. if the NO trade falls apart, i think suns and lakers do the lonzo trade anyway.

Wish they could meet in the middle with something like Jackson+MIL pick.

Lonzo is more valuable than Jackson, but not by a ton. Adding PHX '19 would be ridiculous, even with top5 protection.

I'd pull the trigger on Ball for said pick alone, though (then I'd look to send out Jackson for a PF, maybe even Mirotic while I'm at it, using Bender, Daniels and Okobo; this is where losing Chandler's contract hurts).

Currently we are second worst after 55 games, which means 80% of ending up top5 in the lotto. Say we make the move, improve the rest of the season and finish better than CLE and CHI (ATL looks too distant with 7 more wins; how crazy is that?). That still means 55% of keeping the pick.

Jackson and the Milwaukee pick. Or our own heavily protected first round draft pick. We're still re-building: we need our own pick this year.

Ball, with his many flaws, isn't worth both JJ (who has lots of flaws and is an equivalent player) and a draft pick. Ball is worth a little more than JJ, but not worth a lotto pick more.

Agreed. We're in the driver's seat if this deal depends on us.

I really like JJ, but like I said, he'd be a little redundant with Ball on the roster so I'm OK letting him go. Wouldn't give up a 1st tho. Remember, he was the 4th pick in his own right.
