Minus Booker this was a G league game. Stats in such games doesn't mean anything for me. Let's see what JJ can do against the Jazz.

Big games from the two .net scapegoats. Can't help but be a little hopeful.

Let’s not jump to conclusions. The Cavs are awful and dumb. These are the games our dumb players shine in. They need to play under control against smart teams and then we can talk about improvement

But 19 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks are pretty big numbers, regardless of opponent or player.

I've never been a Sexton fan. His scoring has been a nice surprise, but he's not a lead guard.

Thought it was funny when someone accidentally turned on Tom chambers mic during game action...caught him saying, Collin Sexton never passes.

I've been a big JJ supporter all season but do agree with this. Josh wasn't really doing anything different last night besides finishing at the rim and keeping his TOs down. Obviously those are two pretty big things but you can see in those highlights, JJ was still driving to the rim a little wildly (but finishing) and leaving his feet to pass (normally a TO against better defenses). He can be an impact player on both sides of the ball - the question is, how/where/if he fits here. He's ball dominant and can be a problem for other teams when he plays like last night. But we know his issues scoring and turning the ball over, and if he needs the ball in his hands to be effective, what does that mean for a PG we potentially bring in and how does that fit with Booker?

If his improved 3 point shot is for real(38.8% since all star break) I don’t think he needs to be a ball dominant player. In fact, not requiring him to create so much could be beneficial. Let him attack in transition and as a secondary creator when the ball rotates to him because the defense focuses in on booker or our new pg.

Ultimately, I’d prefer Jackson to work out. I like him, but he hasn’t exactly been a good player yet. If we decide to move on, it’s hard to argue.

I think I seen it mentioned in other threads but Chewing Gum Bender is a thing tho lol
Doesn't matter if he dunks, blocks, even saw him swish a 3 as time expired few games back and his facial expression is the same. I find myself laughing at this the last couple weeks :D

Was happy to see Josh Jackson and Bender play so well in this one. Jackson was all over the place, blocking shots, throwing crisp passes and alley-oops. If you had not watched a game all year and then tuned in to this one, you'd think we had the steal of that draft in Jackson. Sadly these games are too few and far between, and as others have said, it comes against very weak competition. Still, I don't want to nitpick it; I want to enjoy the great game he had.

Bender also had a very solid game. I do think there's an NBA rotation player in him. I've said it a million times: it's a mortal lock that we will let him go and the Spurs will pick him up and he'll play for them for 12 years and be really solid. It's going to happen.

I liked that Book didn't try to force things too much. He was kind of chucking up shots in the 1st, but the Cavs were focusing on him and the shots weren't falling, so he wisely started looking to pass more and not chase some 50-point game or whatever. 25 and 13 is pretty darn impressive.

Nice to get the occasional win, even if the opposition isn't very serious.

I do not want to see Bender go to SA and then they slightly tweak his shot and he becomes a 45% 3 pt shooter the rest of his career there. I actually hope that they can bring back Bender on a cheap contract and continue to allow him to grow. The guys like him a lot, and no one thinks he's all about himself.

Ya I’m all for that. Bender has looked decent since the all star break. He’s not living up to 4th overall pick, but he wouldn’t be coming back in that contract. I’d be just fine bringing him back on a cheap deal to be our 4th or 5th big.

If he'll stay cheap, he should be offered a contract for 2 years or so.

Sure. He had a great game by the box score and by momentum plays as well. His sequence of the dunk and then block on B Knight was the play(s) of the game.

I’d keep him for a couple million per year, that’s about it. 3 years 6-9 million

Has any reporter asked him if he WANTS to be in Phoenix next year? I wonder if having Koko here as a coach is appealing to him, or if he feels ready to move on, like Len was.

Bender has been averaging 10.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 steals over the last 3 games. I really like that stat line.
