Best dunk contest in years.
That Aaron Gordon's seated dunk was amazing!

Re: NBA All-Star Weekend 2016
Aaron Gordon definitely had the best dunks of the night, but LaVine wasn't a slouch. The judging format hurt Gordon. I think he earned the respect of LaVine, who would probably admit that Gordon was just as good, if not better, than himself.
That was a special dunk contest. Seems ones like tonight only come around about once a decade, and even more rarely with two guys putting on a show.

Yup. That Dunk Contest was a real treat. The 3-point Contest was also great. Kudos to the NBA for putting on a great All-Star Saturday.

That seated dunk by Aaron Gordon has to be one of the best I've ever seen. Wow.

Yeah, athletically it was amazing, but I think the one with the spinning mascot took another level of timing, athleticism, and coordination that very few people could do. Grabbing the ball with one hand while doing that little tuck maneuver? May never see a dunk like that again.iLLmatic wrote:That seated dunk by Aaron Gordon has to be one of the best I've ever seen. Ignore doesn't work when people keep reposting the original comment.carey wrote:You gotta throw that dude on ignore.TheOriginalOriginal wrote:SDC wrote:the half whiteys all made it to the finals.

Outstanding dunk contest. LaVine and Gordon should have shared the award.
Re: NBA All-Star Weekend 2016
huh!... it also applies in the slam dunk contest....

Re: NBA All-Star Weekend 2016
Gordon should've won the dunk contest. The seated dunk and the spinning hoverboard were awesome and original.
I caught the skills comp, dunk and 3pt shootout and they were actually really fun to watch. All the other production and Kevin Hart schlock annoyed me. Sometimes the NBA just tries too hard, like the Will Barton Thriller entrance that was utterly pointless. Even Kenny and Charles were talking about it being pointless and a waste of money.
Also, the Blake Griffin Kia commercials? Probably should've pulled those?

Re: NBA All-Star Weekend 2016
One of the problems with the dunk contest is that, unlike the 3-point contest, there is no objectivity. In the 3-point shootout, you don't have to bicker over whether Klay or Steph should have won. It's just how many 3s they made. The dunk contest has these washed up idiots like Shaq over there giving arbitrary scores to dunks. They were all over the map and clearly factored in a dunker's "reputation" as a big part of the scores they gave.
LaVine had several great dunks, but they were not especially creative. He did like 3 variations of the MJ free throw line dunk in a row. Gordon's dunks were completely original and amazing to watch. They looked even better in slo-mo. He totally should have won.

My only complaint about the night is the same one I always have, Kenny Smith. Fuck that guy, he's the worst.
Re: NBA All-Star Weekend 2016
Kevin Hart was on the broadcast and you're complaining about Kenny Smith?
Re: NBA All-Star Weekend 2016
Also, this is a great video of the dunk contest best dunks. How can anybody watch this and not declare Aaron Gordon the winner?
