You are finally getting the balanced play-making and assists you've wanted for 25 years.ShelC wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 5:39 pmKJ was much more of a point guard/floor general who could score. Beal's a scoring guard/combo guard. It's funny with our history of PGs, we're playing all year without one but instead have two premiere shooting guards.Charlie Smithy! wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 3:50 pmIs he like a non-pedo version of Kevin johnson?ShelC wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 12:15 pmBeal is unlike any player I can think of in recent Suns history. Undersized for the 2spot but has the length and athleticism combined with insane quickness to get wherever he wants on the court. He's a 3 level scoring threat who's been a versatile defender for us. I still don't think we've scratched the surface with his abilities but he's filling the role we need for now. I look forward to watching him get on a hot streak and score the shit out of the ball for a few games.
Congratulations
Phoenix Suns certainly have Miles Bridges on their radar, but actually landing him before the Feb. 8 trade deadline is a whole different situation.
Sources confirmed to The Republic the Suns are interested in the Charlotte Hornets forward, who will be an unrestricted free agent after this season. Bridges missed all last season and served a 10-game suspension to start this season for his role in a domestic violence case in 2022.
The Suns aren’t just looking at Bridges as they have 10 or more players on their radar, sources tell The Republic. Phoenix (26-18) is riding a seven-game winning streak heading into Friday’s matchup at Indiana (25-20).
Sounds fucked up but I bet you there’s teams out there that are bigger pieces of shit than us that will offer more for Bridges.Sources informed The Republic the Hornets want picks and the Suns gutted most of their draft future in acquiring Durant and Beal in blockbuster trades. Phoenix has second rounders, but that’s not ideal for Charlotte — right now.
The trade deadline is still two weeks away. If the Hornets get down to the final hours and aren’t receiving any offers for Bridges to their likening, they may just decide to move him for little or nearly nothing.
Maybe two second round picks from the Suns would be enough for the Hornets to deal Bridges.
The Jazz are also one of several teams who’ve called on Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges, league sources told Yahoo Sports, along with Detroit and Phoenix. Bridges would have to be consulted prior to any deal, as he received a no-trade clause when he signed a qualifying offer from Charlotte. While there was originally league-wide skepticism that the Hornets would be able to retain Bridges this summer, Charlotte’s newfound flexibility, creating as much as $45 million in upcoming cap space by dealing Rozier, could push an interested team in trading for him now, as opposed to leaving Bridges available to re-sign with the only NBA club he’s known.
T.J. McConnell was another veteran point guard on the radar in Utah and with many other teams like Phoenix, sources said, but the Pacers have indicated to rival teams they don’t want to move him.
Phoenix only has second-round capital at its disposal, plus Nassir Little and his four-year, $28 million contract, to consider for legitimate upgrades, as Phoenix appears intent on keeping Grayson Allen. While the Suns were once considered primarily shopping for guards – and they remain connected to players in that salary range such as Delon Wright and Monte Morris, sources said – the Suns now seem to be generally looking at various rotation-level players, ranging from Jae’Sean Tate to Royce O’Neale, sources said, to Bridges and Charlotte teammate Nick Richards.
Bbref says 6’4 226…but some other places do say 6’6…I have no clue. He’s probably 6’4 and change barefoot and 6’6 with shoes. He’s just never seemed that big to me. He’s more of a guard defender imo. Tate is probably the same height, but just looks much bigger on the court. I’ve seen him used as a 4 and small ball 5.
Gimme O'Neale if these are the choices, gotta be able to shoot the 3.Split T wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 11:19 amBbref says 6’4 226…but some other places do say 6’6…I have no clue. BBRef still has last year’s heights for some players, when the NBA instituted a new rule and made sure players received accurate barefoot measurements. But this year nba.com has taller heights for players again, so they must have thrown out that requirement.Split T wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 11:19 amBbref says 6’4 226…but some other places do say 6’6…I have no clue. Ya I was googling some Royce stuff and he got dropped to 6’4 the year the nba made everyone measure barefoot. Looking at pictures though…he looks basically the same height as Mikal.JeremyG wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 12:07 pmBBRef still has last year’s heights for some players, when the NBA instituted a new rule and made sure players received accurate barefoot measurements. Chuck would’ve left KD off too if he wasn’t already a starter
