I believe Dallas has cap space…so if Kyrie signed for like 15 million and Dallas took Ayton into cap space I think it’s technically possible.

No way Kyrie comes here on a minimum. It would be to force an Ayton trade. Lol. I don’t really want Irving. But what are ya gonna do?
I'd take Ayton over Irving any day of the week. The guy has way too much baggage.

I don't get why Ishbia is so obsessed with Kyrie.

It would be like every one of our games being like an all star game, but only the other team playing any D! 🤦🏻

If Kyrie is signing for the minimum, sure take him…but I don’t know think hard capping ourselves and trading Ayton for him makes sense. He just doesn’t add enough of what we need. He’s just more of what we already have.

His obsession with kyrie and the way he’s come in guns blazing does have me concerned for what this ownerships gonna be like. We have basically annihilated any chance of building a team through the draft and traded away our young talent. Going championship or bust is a risky gamble and ishbia putting his new baby in the hands of kyrie scares the living crap out of me.

As much as I’d like ayton moved…. This isn’t the deal we need or even want. We need depth and some cap relief. This does the complete opposite.

Yea it makes no sense that Kyrie wants max from Dal but would come here on a minimum.

I'm still trying to figure out who is going to play defense.
The other team.

I don’t think they have enough cap space.

I guess you could have 2 of Kyrie/Booker/Beal/KD on the floor at all times. Not sure how you'd stop that, but relying on minimum deals to do everything else seems kinda sus.

It's surely just a power play to convince the Mavs to pay him what he wants?

We're already going to be using minimum deals to do everything else.

We have a owner who is cheap and doesnt make any big moves and everyone complains. Now we get an owner who literally will do whatever money be damned and we are worried about that too now?

I hear ya... It is encouraging that he's willing to spend. I love it personally... As long as he's being smart about it ;)

This Kyrie stuff feels like a "show me some respect" play. And offering a guy a minimum contract doesn't usually equal "respect." I doubt he's coming here on some cheap deal; the threat would be to demand a trade here or something. But I don't see why we would want to give up a fat contract worth of assets to get Kyrie here. No thank you. Already dreading the 24 hour news cycle of bad Ayton-for-Kyrie trade suggestions.
