If we didn't have Baynes I wouldn't mind Nene as a vet big who can show Ayton some things. Maybe later in FA if Nene's around and we need some depth but I'd rather focus on backup forward with some athleticism.

Darren Collison retiring early. Mirotic dipping out of the country.

Wild.

I feel like Tyus Jones would be better than Rozier. Rozier has never shot 40%. In four seasons. Plus, he has a bit of an attitude...I think his success in the 2018 playoffs went to his head. I think Rozier is better defensively than Jones, but I just trust Jones's attitude and play-making more.

It really seems like it did.

He just does not seem like a winner to me. I had hopes last year but he came back down to earth. Not interested in him at all unless we can get him on something cheap like a 2 year 20M deal.

I prefer Jones as well, but I’m not as down on Rozier as I once was or as most suns fans are. His 2pt% is awful, I’m not sure why, but he shoots decently from 3. He’s not a big playmaker, but he at least doesn’t turn the ball over.

As a starter, his career averages are 15/6/5 with 1.5 steals, a 4:1 A/TO ratio and .40/.40/.80 shooting splits. If we gave him a 2 year 25ish million dollar contract, I wouldn’t hate it.

How much better is Jones than what we have available on our roster? Minny is dying for a PG in the same way we are. I'm guessing he wouldn't solve our problem much like he didn't theirs but maybe a change of scenery would help?

Does seem weird that we’d be interested in Rozier and not Russell though

Why do you think Minnesota is dying for a PG? They like Russell because they see him as a second star to Towns, not because they are in desperate need of a point guard. They had three point guards last season that were significantly more productive than anything we fielded: Jeff Teague, Derrick Rose, and Tyus Jones.

Jones can actually facilitate an offense and find guys in scoring position. Neither Okobo nor Melton can do that yet.

Rozier isn't looking for a max contract.

That’s fair, but we don’t seem to even be considering talking to him. Maybe stretching Tyler is not even an option to Sarver

Maybe he thinks Tyler is our PG of the future. ;)

Nothing in that article. Wally West already posted the tweet that article is referencing, and the article itself doesn't really add anything.

Apparently, Russell prefers the Lakers or Nets:

We may not have considered stretching Ryan either. Though the fact that he’s useless on the court would make it easier.
