Damn Wiseman took it right to those 5-10 dudes with the training pads.

You make a joke, but it's not about that. It's that he's improved his handle enough that you can see it in how he's attacking. You see the cross over and the Euro step. You obviously have to discount that it's against no one with a pad. That's not the point.

Could they put out a chair for him to shoot over?

In2, Christian Wood is probably a wiser AytonFail contingency plan than Wiseman.

And I like Wiseman, but that video does nothing for me.

Yeah, I get that. The ability to immediately play PF/C at a high level does it. This was more about being in position to draft him, which most likely they won't. I'm not sure that they will be able to convince Wood to come to Phx, if Phx is thinking about keeping Saric. I'm not sure they would have enough money to entice him and may not go down that path. How would Wood fit in the culture the Suns have created, what kind of guy is he? I'm just not sure.

I wonder if there could be a package that sends Ayton to Detroit for Wood + their first round pick. I honestly don't know if either side would say yes to that trade, but I sure would have yesterday when I heard about the covid test.

Would anyone kick the tires on an Ayton for Mitch Robinson swap?

NO!

You only trade Ayton for a legit Star. That’s it. Unless you’re getting back KAT, AD, Boban Marjanovic or something of that caliber otherwise the conversation isn’t worth having.

Is that really the criteria tho? If Robinson ends up even 14-12-3 guy who plays hard all the time and isn't a knucklehead, would that be enough? And I'd look for a larger deal like Ayton and our potential 10-15 pick this year for Mitch and their pick in the 3-6 range if it lands there. They can have Jerome too if they insist.

He's a knucklehead but he's our knucklehead.

We ALWAYS give up on our big men early. Why stop now buy high sell low its the Phoenix Suns way. Just understand that Ayton just turned 22.

Hell no it’s not the criteria. You’re willing to trade a young big that will be a 25-30 points and 15 rebounds guy in a couple of years for some guy that may average 14 and 12? Please. Have some patience and get over what you see as a bad attitude. He has played 1 year in college, 1 1/2 years in the NBA and you want to give up on him? That would be the dumbest move ever. Next year will be a big step for him, but I think the year after that we will see him dominate on a regular basis and be a top 10 player in the league. Big men need time. Shaq had 3 years in college, Duncan had 4, Robinson had 4, etc, etc, etc.

Be patient.

You want to be the laughing stock of the NBA? Then yes, do that trade.

I'd love to hear the Knicks reaction when they get that call. They'd probably swallow their tongue and be unable to speak for a few minutes before regathering their composure. "Yes... we're interested." Knicks assistant then whispers to the Knicks GM: "Psst. See if they'll throw in Oubre too."

There are games where Ayton sleep walks to those numbers, so yeah, I want more than Robinson and a pick that might be in the 3-6 range in a draft that isn’t considered very good. Also, I don’t know why the Suns would add their draft pick here, it’s the Knicks that should be adding more picks, not the suns.

No.
I mean, he would have to do something like beat up a woman or be selling drugs/guns or something just so reprehensible for me to get to this point. The diuretic thing and the missed test, to me, are really dumb, but I don't see as reasons to give up on him. I just think these kinds of things is just immaturity that, with the right support around him, he'll grow out of.

That is an unrealistic conversation, and you know it. They would ask for a 2nd round pick.
