I made the mistake of reading this thread while I was still watching my game recording last night. As soon as I saw Bob's post, I knew we had lost. Yeah, it sucks being down a starter/6th man but I think INF is right that it could be a while before we get anything for him. And then there's a good chance it will be a downgrade.

Well you can't downgrade from nothing.

Of course. I meant from when he was a contributing member of the team.

I know, but honestly, there isn't much use looking at it that way anymore. The situation was mismanaged, and now Crowder being a productive player for us isn't even an option.

I don't think Crowder gets moved before December 14.
I agree we aren't just going trade him to trade him. I said when this all started I expected it to linger, because this is hopium season. Everyone is thinking they put together a team to compete (for championships, playoffs/ins, or Wemby) so nobody is going into the season saying "I want to give up a good rotation player for a different rotation player." The GMs need to see how their teams are doing, who gets injured, who is expendable, etc. That will take 15-20 games, and we also need those guys that signed this summer to be eligible to be traded.

At the very least, I'm glad we didn't just rid of him to get rid of him and out of our hair. We need something decent or better in return.

I honestly don't think we are going to trade him for a solid rotation player that cracks out top 6 (which is where Jae would be if he were here). We will have to attach other assets to make that happen (which I am fine with, depending on the deal). We need to improve our top 3 players, or at the very least drastically improve our top 6.

I know it is only 2 games, but Ayton has looked fantastic even with that foul trouble.

I would take draft asset for crowder and attach a first rounder and some salaries to get the Utah players, they are winning too much. Some combination of Olynyk Vanderbilt and Clarkson.

“To Jae’s credit, Jae’s a pro. It’s not like Jae refuses to be a part of this,” Jones said on Oct. 19. “We just decided that for him and for us, it’s best that we pursue alternative options so both groups can move forward.”
How is whining all offseason being a pro?

Yeah, what a pro, makes a bunch of whiny tweets about how he's out on the team, then deletes them a minute later. Refuses to show up and play. Demands a trade because he isn't promised a starting job and a big new extension. Class act. Nice knowing ya, Jae.

Yeah, I'm surprised at what a clown Crowder has turned into.

History would suggest that that's what he is. On the court he's quite professional. Off the court, every exit he's ever had has been kind of contentious.

Duncan Robinson is showing a pulse tonight. His salary is still an issue but it might be something to keep an eye on.

We would be so better off not taking on bad money in a Crowder deal.

Smart, I’d need 2 1sts to take Robinson…or a 1st and Strus.

I actually like Duncan, but a straight swap for Crowder isn't the way to go. They need to throw in a first at the very least.

I wouldn't do it even for a first, if we're trying to win this season. We need better bench help now.

I think Robinson would provide some needed scoring off the bench.
