What a fun game. It felt like everybody, other than maybe Kaminsky, was on fire tonight. Booker is having a great stretch of games here. Rubio had a great stat line. Seven guys in double figures, including Cam Johnson showing up with 15 big points.

Minor non-bright spots: Kaminsky 1-7, Bridges 2-7. I wish both guys could find their shooting stroke.

Are the Rubio doubters going to admit they were wrong yet? Rubio had 22 points on 10-16 shooting, 2-4 on 3s, 12 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 0 turnovers in 29 minutes. Is there any doubt he has been a superb signing?
It seemed as if Rubio couldn't miss tonight. In fact, one of his misses was near the end where he totally faked out his defender but then missed the layup.

49 pts and 21 dimes from the Suns starting backcourt.
Kyrie who?
Extremely solid tonight. Irving had a pedestrian stat line.

I appreciate Tyler Johnson's contribution off the bench.
He does remind me of cousin Mose from "The Office" though ...
At least he got his missing tooth fixed.

How about us being 6-3 after 9 games with two of those losses by 1 point each? That's better than most of us imagined before the season started.

Monty's stuck with Cam in the rotation as a backup 4 and he's been getting good looks so it was only a matter of time before they start falling. I'm fine with his defense and energy, sneaky athleticism. He really put up a nice line tonight.

Don't want to jinx it but we should be 8-1 right now anyway. From the Preseason thread... ;)

We're going 7-3 and will be the talk of the NBA after 2 weeks.

Would be quite shocking if he didn’t make it. 4 guaranteed spots for guards. You figure Harden/Lillard take the starting spots. Then at least 2, possibly 3 reserve guards. With no Curry/Thompson, feels like that should be Mitchell and Booker.

I’d like to see Monty give Elie a shot at the backup PG role. Carter has no confidence on O and if he’s not hitting his open 3s he’s pretty useless on that side of the ball.

Ty’s coming back soon, so this may be Elie’s last opportunity to get some quality run.
Please call him Okobo. When I read that, I think of Mario. :o

I’m fine with him being 13th man. Hasn’t shown anything more than that. I’d play Carter over him because Carter plays pretty good D and gets his team and the crowd energized. Carter made good on his opportunities in the first few games. More than Okobo showed all last season

Granted it was against the end of the Nets bench, but Okobo looked really solid in the last six minutes. He was playing under control much more and just looked comfortable in general. I think he should get 15-20 minutes on nights when Rubio is out for rest at the very least.

It’s a different season. He’s looked good in limited minutes. He also has some potential on D.

This team is legitimately good. I almost want to cry. It has been so long. Every game this year is such a treat to watch.

Okobo has looked good in most of the minutes he’s played this year. He seems more focused on what he’s good at. He’s a scoring guard. I’m fine though that he’s not in the regular rotation. He’s still young, we’ve got him signed for cheap if we want him the next couple years. No need to rush his development. But I feel fine about him getting backup minutes if we have injuries.

Agreed. He'd be a lock if they were selecting the teams today. But you left off Doncic, who I think most of the national media would put in before Booker.

Harden, Dame, Doncic, Booker and Mitchell are the cream of Western guards, but it's also important to consider legacy selections like Westbrook and CP3. They don't deserve to get in after 3 weeks, but you know it would be a weeks long talking point if one of them were healthy and being left out.

He was listed as a front court player last year on the ballot. I guess we’ll see about this year, but ya Doncic would be ahead of booker and Mitchell as a guard. Westbrook could maybe get some momentum to snag a spot, but I don’t think CP3 will get close. I’d be more worried about CJ or Murray.

Cam Johnson plays better the more minutes he receives. He needs about 20 per game to be effective.

Okobo needs to play elsewhere. He’s good enough but it’s clear we’re more interested in Jerome and Carter going forward.

Loved what I saw tonight. We’re very hard to beat when Rubio is playing well.

I wish the refs would give Baynes a fair shake but I don’t see it happening any time soon. Not sure Ayton would fair any better but come Christmas time we’ll see.

They’ve been saying for years that they couldn’t select Booker because our record sucked. Now it no longer sucks. I wonder what excuse they’ll use this year.
