If we have a roster spot open up for some reason (I'm not advocating cutting anyone for this), I think I would sign him just so that it sends a message to players that we're an organization that will take care of you. Who knows what future young player might have Tony Snell in his year, or if he happens to go work for an agency or something like that?

Not a bad idea…does he have to stay on the roster? Can it be just a 10-day contract? Can you sign him to a non-guaranteed deal and then just cut him the next day?
