LOL, I was trying to think of a version of this joke where we actually got Carlton from Fresh Prince, the fake Chris Paul. But I couldn't quite get there.
Trade: Chris Paul to Suns for Ricky Rubio and Kelly Oubre Jr.

Re: Trade: CP3
Yea not a fan of bringing Gallo in. We need some athleticism on the roster. He and Dario as 2 of our main frontcourt bigs would be a joke.
Re: Trade: CP3
It'll interesting to see which version we get. Hopefully not Alfonso Ribiero

Awesome deal! I have concerns about Gallo too. Grant is who we want but I fear whether we have enough to sign him. I’d rather renounce Saric and sign Grant. Dude can shoot the rock and defend. James Jones really can’t miss on this draft cuz spending $ gonna be tight to fill out the bench.
Re: Trade: CP3
The more I watch Bertans, the more I wish the Suns could get him. He is just a nasty shooter, and he has a quirky athleticism about him. Feisty player. I just dig him.

Forgot about grant. Definitely a possibility too

I want Wood Grant or Ibaka
Re: Trade: CP3
Gallo is really good at getting to the line and has good size.
Bertans is more of a specialist.
Millsap is pretty much done.
Wood is the best fit next to Ayton.
Grant is very good and versatile but will be the most coveted.

Re: Trade: CP3
Grant supplies athleticism and D. Plus he’s a decent spot up shooter. Gallo or Bertans give us shooting. More shooting with Bertans, more balanced offense with Gallo. Wood would be the upside play. He can shoot, he can play the 5. He’s young and has star potential. He’d be my choice. But I understand the risk.
Don’t forget Millsap too. Solid, good defender, can shoot too. Smart player who can move the ball. Injury risk though.

Re: Trade: CP3
Grant could really boost his $$ by signing a shorter deal with the Suns. He takes 3.5 3s per game over past 2 years. On the Suns he would have far more open looks and could likely get himself more shots in our offense than re-signing with the Nuggies. Defenses are really gonna struggle covering Book and CP3/Ayton Pick n Roll. We will have an open vacancy for a stretch 4 spot for someone to take 7 three point shots per game provided they can knock em down .370+%Split T wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 12:23 pmGrant supplies athleticism and D. Re: Trade: CP3
With a fairly new GM, and a desire to appease Booker and CP3, are we going to see a situation where the player functions as an informal gm? That is, the Suns might prioritize Gallinari (who has a history with CP3 and Booker) over someone like Wood, who might be a better fit?

Re: Trade: CP3
You don’t trade for a 35 year old Pg making $40M per year to then cheap out. This is a win now move and you need to round out the roster with vets on short term deals ready to win. Otherwise why make the move??? Don’t get cheap now. Might as well have stayed the course with draft picks and young players.
If CP is our only real addition I will be pissed

Re: Trade: CP3
The Suns just traded for someone making $40M a year and we are still calling him cheap. Kinda crazy.
Anyway, I wonder if they are giving Paul input already on who he wants here and this which route they are going. If you brought back both Baynes and Saric you could get away with using just that MLE. In this scenario they absolutely have to bring back Cam Payne, right? There will just be too many games that Paul will need to rest in this condensed schedule. Have to have someone steady behind him.

ESPN saying we’re doing the trade now and we’ll be an over the cap team.
Who can we get at the MLE?I wrote about the possibility of Phoenix delaying the completion of this trade until after using cap space in free agency, which would have given the Suns about $17 million to spend. Instead, sources confirmed to ESPN that Phoenix is expected to make the deal now, choosing to stay over the cap.

I do not like Millsap. I don’t like the fit next to DA at all a and he looked old and slow in the bubble to meSplit T wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 12:23 pmGrant supplies athleticism and D.
