I listened to the TWolves announcers tonight who I liked and were pretty fair. They mentioned that Ed Malloy was reffing tonight and they had a good, long laugh about their colleague who was doing their radio broadcast tonight. I guess he had a famous call about Malloy. I had to look it up and here it is. Pretty funny.

Id still trade Ayton for KAT in a heartbeat. For the record.
Re: Game Day: Suns (7-3) @ Wolves (5-6), Wed 11/9/22
Really good win even if it got a little closer than we would've liked towards the end. The Wolves did the whole "we're gonna half ass it for 3 quarters and then play super hard in the 4th to make the score look closer than it was". If they keep this up, KAT and DAR are outta there.
Love how this team always steps up and bounces back after a loss. We never seem to get into a funk and lose multiple games with poor effort or execution. We take losses personally and take it out on the next team we play. Book carried the load all around and Mikal played like a big time #2 tonight. I don't expect 30pts every game, but he's more than capable of 18-20pts a night, even with his defense on the other end.
Payne is like night and day as a starter vs reserve. Not sure how we get this kind of play from him off the bench consistently. Landry looked good knocking down shots. Not much from the frontcourt guys but fortunately didn't need much.

Down two starters, the Suns recorded a satisfying win.
Phoenix played with pace and negotiated the taller Minnesota team, putting Towns and Gobert in early foul trouble.
'Wolves have great size, but lack in talent/effort/continuity on the wings.
Russell looks lost and Edwards looks unhappy.
Yes, Ayton was underwhelming, but was also not essential last night.
And, no, trading for Towns is not an answer. He can be equally erratic and disengaged at times...

I love seeing Mikal have a big offensive game. Imagine how deadly this team would be if Bridges were scoring 20 points a night. Also really great to see Cam Payne step up when we needed him. But we all know this is really the LANDRY SHAMET game!! My guy.

Mikal does need to attack more, but remember how people on this board were implying he wasn’t worth his salary? Ridiculous.
For the record, he’s at:
16.4/5.3/2.9/1.1/1.1 on the season, last year he was
14.2/4.3/2.4/1.2/.4, so he’s up on almost everything.
He’s shooting 59/46/89 for a .690 TS%. Last year
he shot 53/37/83 for a .627 TS%
WS/48 are up from .150 to .203 and BPM went 1.6 to 4.1
I think it’s safe to say he’s been better this year. Just need him to shoot even more.

Underwhelming and non essential, those are the 2 things I look for in a max player.LazarusLong wrote: ↑Thu Nov 10, 2022 8:06 amDown two starters, the Suns recorded a satisfying win.

Mikal had a game. He should be able to do this regularly. He needs to be at 18 ppg and sustain that in big games. Mikals scoring outputs tend to come in games out of the spotlightTOO wrote: ↑Thu Nov 10, 2022 9:04 amReally hope he can sustain.Split T wrote: ↑Thu Nov 10, 2022 8:44 amMikal does need to attack more, but remember how people on this board were implying he wasn’t worth his salary? .
Don’t even get me started on Mr. Max last night
Is the board boner for Landale soft now? Can we go back to Dario? Or are the blind wolves going to come after me again.

Gobert - 25 Pts, 11 Reb, 3 Blks, 11 FTs
Ayton - 9 Pts, 6 Reb, 0 Blks, 2 FTs
Which looks like a max player? Notice the FTs?

They’d both look sexy next to Jakob Poettl though.

Oh, oh! Me, me, ME! Player 2?
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

AIG wins! Also so does Myles Turner as player 2…we all know who player 1 is.

Solid game by the guys
Always good to see Mikal in the high points
Even better seeing Cam use his right hand, that's back to back games now which is something all jokes aside
I've actually been feeling fairly comfortable when Landry spots up for 3 and just on eye test I think he's shooting at a decent clip

He’s at a career low 36.4% from 3…sample size is small so far though.

Just didn't feel like Googling and was wondering if I would be corrected lol. That's interesting though
