He also gives the team a momentum pusher, guy who can go up and get an alley pop or dunk on someone's head, we don't have that currently.
I was curious about this because I couldn't recall seeing many dunks from him in recent years despite his reputation from being in the dunk contest.

2022-23: 42 games played, 5-7 on dunk attempts
2021-22: 63GP, 10-13
2020-21: 46GP, 11-14

While I think he still has some bounce left in his legs, I don't really expect explosive dunks from him very often based on the numbers. We might see one dunk every 6-8 games from him.

By comparison, Josh Okogie this year:

49GP, 15-20 on dunk attempts
He's also been stuck playing with a bunch of bums.
OK. IDK what that has to do with him dunking the ball.
Opportunities.

2019-2020 he had attempted 145 dunks, according to ChatGPT.

Sorry, TOO. Nothing about dunking mentioned here. He did talk about floaters though!

https://www.gophnx.com/2023/02/15/terre ... ut-pickup/

What the Phoenix Suns can expect from buyout pickup Terrence Ross

Essentially, if you give him a good screen, Ross can elevate from the perimeter, wiggle his way into a middy or even throw up a decent floater off the run, since he’s made 15 of his 30 floaters so far this season.

Unfortunately, Ross doesn’t provide much rim pressure as a slasher or cutter, since he doesn’t get to the hoop very often. Only seven percent of his shots come at the rim (ranking in the first percentile, per Cleaning The Glass), and he doesn’t get to the free-throw line either, placing in the seventh percentile in both shooting fouled percentage and floor fouled percentage.

Floaters are WNBA dunks, it counts in my book.

He is going to get plenty opportunities to score however he wants alongside KD and Book.

Wow…. Hadn’t followed him that closely but watching these highlights is exciting to see. Can’t wait till we have our team fully back.

Can't call the full bench squad the GLeague anymore with Ross and TJ being actual NBA players :(

Found this kinda interesting cause I'm fairly certain our workouts are done by position

So Okogie / Torrey / Ross is the SF spots ?
SG would be D.Lee and Shamet behind Book
PG CP3, Payne and Saben
C is DA, Biz n Jock
PF is KD / TJ / Ish / Bazley

This is SpliT favourite type of post lol
But yeah, cause KD is out we starting the two SFs but upon his return the minutes gonna be a squeeze

If Okogie starts at SF, does Torrey sub in for him or KD
If it is for KD when does TJ get a look
And if Torrey is subbing in at SF when is Ross gonna get a run out because SG would be Shamet or D. Lee

Don't know how you guys try projecting these minute rotations lol. This will be my first and only but yeah the position shooting in that vid just had me thinking as I was initially saying Ross might take some SG minutes

Fucking Woj going of his way to not mention James Jones last week is even funnier now.

Ross is easily the best scorer of that group, Okogie the best defender, Craig the best rebounder. Any of the 3 could start, come off the bench, or drop out of the rotation entirely. Warren may be part of that group as well. Okogie may get minutes at guard if Payne and Shamet have trouble regaining their rhythm. It's going to get interesting to see how this shakes out.

If it’s me it’s looking like

CP3/Payne/Lee
Book/Okogie/D. Lee/Shamet
Ross/Warren
KD/Craig
DA/Biz/Jiz

Who starts between Ross and Warren I have no clue

Ross has got beautiful arc on his shot. If nothing else, the rims will be happy that they don’t have to deal with Landry’s missiles as often.

I still believe I'm right about workouts by position
These probably just extra reps after practice

Suns depth chart according to ESPN: https://www.espn.com/nba/team/depth/_/n ... oenix-suns

They have Ross listed as our fifth-string SF and not even listed as an option at other positions.

(Too lazy to screenshot it, so if they change it, trust me.)

They often move injured players to the last spot on the depth chart.
