From Haynes today: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/100 ... -and-more_
Kevin Young, an associate head coach under Williams, will interview with the Suns as early as next week, sources say. Young appears to have the backing of many Suns' players.
I don’t like this at all. Need an outside voice.

I think that we will get Lue this way or another. Firing Monty only makes sense if you have the possibility to get someone like Lue. Other options are not clear upgrades over Monty, maybe Nurse, but the margin is not huge. Bud, Doc have all the same adjustment issues in the Playoffs like Monty.
I agree that Lue and Nurse are the only names that interest me thus far.

I'm willing to wait and see. Does seem weird though that if he had such great ideas and adjustments that Williams wasn't willing to try them. Either that or he was late to try them.

Im fine with Young over anyone not named Lue. Nurse I’d be ok with too, but he’s already been shot down according to Gambo

Yeah, it does seem a bit odd but perhaps that says more about Monty's stubbornness than it does about Young's lack of ideas/adjustments.

I mean there will be a next Nick Nurse type that comes out of nowhere to win a championship. It'd be cool if that guy was Kevin Young.

Yeah, Young has to be an option if Nurse and Bud aren't being considered.

Yep! Hiring a HC from within the existing coaching structure can work well sometimes. Phil Jackson and Ty Lue himself are prime examples of that.

Then there's Earl Watson....

I do find it interesting that with all the open rumors about us wanting Ty Lue, that there hasn’t been a definitive report by someone saying the Clippers will absolutely not let Ty Lue go, especially to a division rival or something like that. Gives a glimmer of hope that Suns know Lue wants out and that’s the Suns are his preferred destination. Still seems highly unlikely but these are wild times.

Can’t say I know much about any of those guys…except Darko was with us at one point, right? Like maybe Gentry or Hornacek years?

Wow Woj really hates us. This tweet must be a joke. These guys can not replace Monty, KD would eat them alive.

I hope so. Gambo said from what he's hearing he would not be surprised if we hired an assistant who's never been a head coach.

I don't know what makes me think this, but I think James Jones himself might be a dark horse candidate.
