This Twitter account is petty and dumb, but once in a while they get me with their nonsense.

Who am I kidding? I’m a sucker for petty and dumb.

At least Harden has the resume to back it up.

Never really had any strong opinion on Harden
If he's great
If he just manipulates the rules for fouls
Whatever the debates were.....

But with all the seemingly it's everyone fault but mine energy and the fact he's back out West and the "rivalry" we have with Clippers
I do want this to not go well

It feels so minor league and gimmicky. If the wins were tied to playoff seeding or weighted differently against regular season wins, I'd be more interested. But rooting for the team to win a tourney where the already rich players win more money just doesn't do it for me. Plus I know the league is just doing it to create more revenue, not to actually make the regular season better or more intriguing.

It feels pretty pathetic that the explicit stated reason for the in-season tournament is to try to get anybody (fans, players) to care about the early NBA season. If nobody cares, why even have the games? Just start the season on Christmas day, or after the Super Bowl, if that's when people start watching.

I could be completely wrong, but I feel like this tournament is going to be a total dud. I don't know anybody who is excited about it or really talking much about it. Maybe when the games start I'll change my tune, but it just feels too early in the season. We don't even know these teams yet, we don't know who is good and who is over/underachieving. It's too early.

I don’t get the arguments against the in-season tournament. They are just regular season games with added significance. Yes the goal is more money, but the way they get more money is by having more interesting regular season games.

I know I care a little more. Denver vs Dallas tonight is a qualifier game for the tourney. I’m more interested in that game now as I think the players will want to win it more. They always want to win, but there will be more focus on doing that.

It just creates more high level matchups. The qualifier games may not be that different, but now we might get an extra Denver vs Boston matchup this year. That’s good. Or Phoenix vs Milwaukee. Maybe Wemby goes crazy and the Spurs make a run in the tourney.

At worst they are just no different from any other regular season game, so where is the harm? I personally don’t think they went far enough and have ideas on how it can be improved, but that’s another discussion haha.
