How can you possibly justify starting this guy in the NBA?

Great minds, Bobster.

Maybe a few trades will fix it for us. There was some ESPN article that says the Rockets should trade us Howard for Tyson and Markieff. Not that I'm a huge Howard fan, but hey I'd do that trade.

That's not what I would call it.EDC wrote:It is amusing watching our guards try to throw that alley oop to Chandler.

I was glad to see Tyson point that out. Now I hope the team starts listening to him.Mori Chu wrote:Nobody passes to anybody. This is just a collection of individual players, not a team.

Well, the good news is the Suns hung with them for a quarter and a half. The bad news was Booker ruining his record three point shooting percentage. Booker looked very much like a 19-year-old rookie tonight. (But so did a lot of our guys.)

NO WAY. Howard's a diva and we'd go downhill fast with him on the team. There was some ESPN article that says the Rockets should trade us Howard for Tyson and Markieff. Not that I'm a huge Howard fan, but hey I'd do that trade.

The Suns have devolved from SSOL to 48 minutes of befuddlement.
This is a franchise totally lacking in vision, rooted in banal mediocrity.
Meanwhile, the Warriors have taken the SSOL approach, more or less, and elevated it into an art form.

I think there's just too much disconnect between the way Hornacek wants the team to play and the talent on the roster. We're not a SSOL, free flowing passing team. We need to play slow, run set plays where our guards can score effectively in the halfcourt and then lock down on defense - which our guys have the ability to do. Doesn't mean Hornacek isn't a good coach or our players aren't any good. Just not a good fit for each other.

I absolutely DON'T want Dwight Howard but if we aren't at the bottom of the hill yet I don't know where we are.ShelC wrote:NO WAY. We're nowhere close to the bottom of the hill. Howard would be nothing more than major headache, moreso than Kieff IMO because of Howard's "wannabe star" attitude and presence with the media. You don't move a guy like Tyson, who's needed for this kind of roster right now.

Fixed it for you.The Bobster wrote:Maybe we can put some lipstick on this pig by adding a veteran who won't really move the needle at all, but we could contend for the 8th playoff spot but end up drafting 13th again.

I don't hate Dwight Howard as much as some here do. But even if he had a mini resurgence here, I don't think he moves us in a direction toward becoming contenders. And he's in the later stages of his career, so by the time we'd be getting close to contending, he would not be close to his prime. So I don't think his upside is enough to justify giving up assets for him.
Re: Game Day: Suns (11-15) @ Warriors (24-1), Wed 12/16/15
I was reminded so much last night of the D'Antoni prime Suns. The way Thompson would get down court in a hurry and after a couple quick passes to get it to him, he would launch a three.LazarusLong wrote:The Suns have devolved from SSOL to 48 minutes of befuddlement.

Not sure how much further down we can go. We are a terrible team with no identity or stars. We have management that thinks we can make the playoffs with our current roster. We have some nice pieces with Booker, Warren, and Len and some draft picks. Hornacek has no idea how to use this current group. This is about as bottom of the hill you can go without playing your home games in Philadelphia.Indy wrote:Agreed.ShelC wrote:We're nowhere close to the bottom of the hill. Bledsoe and Knight cannot throw lobs to Chandler so I'm not sure what would change having Howard

Booker looked like a more athletic Klay Thompson last night.

Howard would complain about it more. And about not being "the man."
Re: Game Day: Suns (11-15) @ Warriors (24-1), Wed 12/16/15
I'd say there's a zero percent chance that we trade for Howard and only a slightly higher one that we trade any of Knight, Bledsoe or Chandler. Probably not even worth discussing.
