You did a little too much research on that one!

Kemba can do his Paul Pierce impression and get wheeled out in the middle of a game to rejoin the team.

And here we go.

without the bubble, and forcing the players to start this month instead of waiting until February or March (when they MIGHT have a vaccine delivered broadly) will mean lots of this and cancelled games like the NFL.

The nfl has actually managed ok I think. Moved a few games around, but they’re on track to play all their games, which is a little crazy with the size of rosters they carry. NBA has an advantage with smaller rosters. Though increased games/travel may counteract that. I’d imagine the nba will probably be a little more strict than the nfl though.

The larger number of games, increased travel, and high-contact nature of the sport all add up to a problematic combination. NFL has only one game a week and can keep people more separated between games. MLB has a lower-contact sport full of fatasses who just stand around and don't even breathe hard.

I'm not as confident about the Pels as ESPN. How much of an upgrade is SVG over Gentry? And how long will it take for the players to transition to his system?

Yes perhaps, ultimately it’s going to come down to how well the players police themselves with their off the court activities.

Ya I don’t get it, I’ll be surprised if they are in the top 8. I think they clearly got worse from last year. I guess a big jump and health from Zion might counteract their drop off at pg, but we’ll see.

I think they are over rating the Jazz as well.

Beyond Portland, I think the Warriors have a better shot at the playoffs than the Pels.

I put the Pels, Kings, and Wolves in the same group. The grizz might even be a tier above them.

Beyond LAL at #1 and LAC at #2 -- I have absolutely no idea how the seedings will turn out of the next tier of teams. There's so little separating Denver, Portland, Phoenix, Dallas, and Utah that I'm not going to even try. Houston and GS are unknowns -- they could be challenging LAC at #2 or be out of the playoffs altogether.

The 95% confidence interval for Phoenix would have to be as wide as #2 and #10 -- although I'd say that the 65% confidence interval would look more like #3 and #7. In other words, I'm 95% sure that the Suns would be in the #2-#10 range and 65% sure that the Suns would be between #3-#7. If I had to pick a point estimate, I'd say that the Suns will be a #5 seed and something like a 50-game winner in a normal season (44 games this year).

I don't think Houston is making the playoffs. Teams entering the season with that dark of a cloud over them usually underperform and they don't have the personalities, talent and possibly coaching to weather it.
