I'm really surprised no one commented on this post. Unless you didn't realize that was Josh Jackson?

Draft related but now offseason news?

Great deal if you ask me, let's get him in the gym and coach him up. I think he's going to be a breakout star in SL if he plays.
Isnt this essentially what they gave Ulis when they picked him as well?

Ulis and Reed both got these 1st round type deals. I think Okobo's is a little richer because he has a buyout to cover.

Don't understand the Ulis pushback. That doesn't get us to free agency so we still won't know if we need his money freed up... Maybe for trade purposes.

It's purely about giving the team more time to make a decision.

Can't pay a dude 5.5m to be a 3rd C. Just can't do that.
5M is 5% of the cap. This is not 2004 anymore.
I dont care what % it is, the dude doesnt have a place here. His 5m will be needed in FA.

Can't believe people are so into Alan Williams lol.
$1M is guaranteed, so the question isn’t whether he’s worth $5.5M, it whether he’s worth $4.5M.

And we need a 3rd center. Our 3rd center may not play every game, but he will play. We can’t go into the season with only two centers, when one of them is the often-unavailable (and often-bad-matchup) Tyson Chandler, and the other needs minutes at PF.

Are you saying Ayton needs minutes at PF? I dont agree with that. We have a 3rd emergency C in Chriss/Bender, I think thats more than sufficient.

Sure, but wouldn't it be much more useful to push it back to July 7th like Williams?

Yes, I’m saying Ayton should get some minutes at PF. At the very least, the roster should be constructed to give us the flexibility to do that.

And Chandler being unavailable isn’t an “emergency,” it’s a foreseeable situation. It’s likely to happen plenty.

It has to be a mutual decision. Ulis probably wants to be a FA on day one if the team isn't keeping him.

If the option is picked up, are there any trade restrictions?

I didn't get the "boiiiiing" comment. He went 2 for 3 in the video with the 2nd shot going in and out.

Ah, I don't care about the result. I care how it looks. Working with my son on fixing his hitting mechanics has taught me it is incredibly difficult to change something once it's learned. I think he looks good for 2 months of work.

Still doesn't explain the "boiiiiiing" comment. I thought that was a bad thing. Like the sound the ball makes clanging off the rim.

Exactly. Why? I get it, he is a great guy. Seems like a really positive influence to have around. But we need better talent if we ever want to be relevant again. Double, Doubles in meaningless games means squat.

JWB--I think you missed the question. It was, why does TOO want to play Ayton at the 4?
