Re: Summer League 2018
Would Ulis still play on the SL team if the team declines his team option??
Re: Summer League 2018
Tough to say, if he is planning to resign for the minimum, then probably, if he's trying to get a contract elsewhere, then maybe not. Although he may want to use summer league as an audition.Wally_West wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 9:45 amWould Ulis still play on the SL team if the team declines his team option??
Re: Summer League 2018
That roster would beat our regular season roster in the second half of last season.

Not to be an asshole, but I hope we move on from Ulis. He didn't grow at all in his 2 season so far.Split T wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 9:48 amTough to say, if he is planning to resign for the minimum, then probably, if he's trying to get a contract elsewhere, then maybe not. Re: Summer League 2018
Booker and Knight will not play, but will participate in SL practices. I love Igor. He is all about getting it done. He is coaching. He is getting all his players involved using summer league as sort of a pre-training camp.

Re: Summer League 2018
You can't start Okobo. He's not ready. Doing that is a recipe for failure. You've got to bring these guys along at the right pace. Okobo maybe, MAYBE, would be ready to play some backup PG minutes early this season if we are lucky. If you throw him out there for 35 minutes a game or whatever, he'll drown.
Re: Summer League 2018
You can totally start okobo in SL. He played pro ball overseas. Now starting him in the NBA ala Chriss would be terrible for his development no doubt.
Re: Summer League 2018
this is my summer league lineup, not planning to start Okobo in the regular seasonMarty [Mori Chu] wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 10:54 amYou can't start Okobo. He's not ready. Re: Summer League 2018
Marty, this is the Summer League thread. Of course you can start him. Along with all the other rookie PGs on other SL teams. Get some sleep!Marty [Mori Chu] wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 10:54 amYou can't start Okobo. He's not ready. Doing that is a recipe for failure. You've got to bring these guys along at the right pace. Re: Summer League 2018
You guys have it covered, but I can't pass up a sure-fire chance to be right.
Hey, Marty, of course Okobo can start in the summer league. Even that Bright Side article suggests that the 1st game will be mostly an Okobo vs Brunson matchup of point guard skill.

Agreed. He won't be scared of what the SL throws at him.TheOriginalOriginal wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 11:11 amYou can totally start okobo in SL. He played pro ball overseas. Now starting him in the NBA ala Chriss would be terrible for his development no doubt.
Re: Summer League 2018
I'd be very disappointed if he doesn't explode in summer league. I think his game is made for SL.
